That hood will look good on it, not sure of origin. Could be Chevy truck. I’m using 32 Chevy hood sides on my coupe, sectioned them to fit. IMG_2874.jpeg

  5. Going 32 latches- they are still in the portal of shipping

If you do, please make a video of that process. I have been thinking along those lines myself.

I have found a source for aluminum Wide Five 18 inch wheels, but haven't seen a picture of one, yet.

I believe they would be this style:

Probably not what you are looking for.

  10. And then this happened… I need to finish one before the other. This will be fun. Maybe a tandem? It’s 19’ long 34” wide roughly.
Still haven't identified the plane- definitely wind tipped. 15F412BF-A279-4F0C-86EE-55176F43BFC0.jpeg 579B3A8B-F583-4D59-A268-A5889AF670E9.jpeg 30BA8229-18AA-407B-B22F-F2FF5822DD47.jpeg

Just what everyone wants - another project. Wall hanging or build it for Lake Gairdner or Perkolilli?

@jordabennett are you dropping axles for other people?

  12. I think it deserves a build, I got all the pieces.

Yeah for sure! I’ll drop anything

  13. Well you wouldn’t believe it. But some how I managed to find my self THREE BD55786D-491F-46A7-9CC2-A9F2E161B7CE.jpeg FE1D3243-E14A-4465-9975-D2DE44DE3EAB.jpeg 2E88A3C5-827B-4C92-96F7-C71DE2816E0E.jpeg AB591BCF-CEBE-4B1B-A247-08A8DD70E41A.jpeg 18” Kelsey Hayes wide fives. The last piece of the puzzle for this build. They are in great shape and have a spare if someone is interested or know of one I could make a set for someone.

    Were they in Australia?

I've been looking hard here and haven't even seen one!

  15. They were! Well I have one spare so let me know if you walk through a swap meet and one lands on your toe!

  18. Something different between waiting for parts.
Going to make a huge light box- printed direct onto a sheet of opal sheet. Mor Speed shop photo of Tim’s coupe. Will look pretty cool! 2808EC6B-46BD-46E2-98F5-B44BD2295817.jpeg

How did you get that big of a print? Thanks.

  20. That image was really great quality from Mor Speed Shop- I had a friend print it on to an acrylic sheet. Need to make a frame and some lights still! C5FD54BE-3F7E-4C48-9804-1424F0065D46.jpeg

dont have the 18" but i have a pair of the v8 60 skinny 16x3.5" for the front if you want. would make a nice combo

  22. Yes this most certainly would be!! I’ll message you

  23. Finally got around to changing out the front axle- originally it was a 36 with modified wish bones and round back spindles. Now it’s all 32 in plans to run the Rocky Mountain hubs. Now this one was from a Friend Rodger it was bent badly as seen but repairable with a few goes in the press.

Next was welding and blending the area where the spring makes contact. Tig weld - grind- scaler.

Then it was in the jig for a conservative 1.5” drop. Nothing crazy. I lost about a 1/4” each side in width. Not bad!

    Spindles and drag link next.

A lot of nice work there. Those body panel repairs, do you have to hammer and dolly them at all? Ive just done a floor repair, tried to get everything super tight, tig'd, had to stretch the welds a bit as it did move, but I cant get it anywhere near as smooth as yours.

  27. You bet, everything needs to be planished if tig welded and you have access to behind the weld

Exactly what I'm after, especially one with a good stretch about it.

  29. This is great entertainment. Your work is stellar, your sense of dimension and proportion is inspiring. The attention to detail draws you in, the whimsy and humour along the way… After blowing all that smoke, the question is, can I post this on the Friday Art Show thread as long as I give credit over to this thread? Or the favourite picture on the hamb thread- or both? I’m going back now to reread some of this thread. F778A75C-AAD3-44F1-B38F-ACE5D9CB6196.jpeg
