  1. yeah it’s a later one forsure, I haven’t tried this one yet but the smaller one didn’t seem too work, clamp bottomed out and still has slop

  2. Still sussing out the ball. But it’s bolted in for mock up. I removed a few leafs, and will changed the model a perches to 32 ones but it seems to be working! Another step closer! Can you get a nut on the perch? Might need to deepen the top bevel on the late wishbone.

Model A and 32-34 perch bolts only have enough thread to run on 28-32 bones. 35 and onwards are thicker and require longer perch bolts

  6. I just figured this out too, I might have to take some off the top of the 36 bones to get some more thread through

Great looking roadster. Where did you get those rear frame horns? They look better than the replacements I got from Tanks.

  9. Little update! rear mock-up wheels on and will continue to finish off the front to get it on all four wheels, the body is sitting level on the frame. Karl started to fix the very badly damaged door, I started to install the 32 box, made a coloum and got the wheel installed. Need to make a coloum drop next. And figure out where the seat will sit to get the pedals figured out. 7.50 rears will replace these and either a 5.50 or 6.00 (pictured) for the front.
I haven’t decided what to do with the rear frame rails. I seem to like them but at the moment they will stay until further notice- I do how ever line the idea of using this 36 Chevy luggage rack for road trips and loading. Hope you put Carl to good use, apparently he is pretty handy with steel :)

  13. He’s handy with the key!

  14. Getting the measurements for a coloum mount, fitted the signal stock too. Nice old clean Signal stat 700. Suits it I think’ 916C61E5-9520-41A5-AD15-578B8D92947C.jpeg A5ECF995-70F7-478E-9550-9E310200CB39.jpeg F9F807B2-585F-490D-8544-044348637856.jpeg 97B1E251-67D4-4C26-B6AB-1ED02D9D2CAE.jpeg F27DEF08-C549-4557-A9F9-EFE69F3ADD59.jpeg 59A5BF7E-421C-4E61-AD75-0C632D526B72.jpeg

  15. Made a simple little coloum drop/mount with a nice glass red lense for something? Maybe hi beam or generator light, possible oil light.

Looks great! I’ve never once considered right hand drive cars having the blinker on the right haha.

  17. Nice column drop! It appears that you brazed it together after the tack welds? Wondering why not weld it?

Wow, I hadn't looked at the thread since you first did the trade until now and just read through the whole thing. That is some nice work.

  20. Don't tell Carl....but I like your roadster better than the one he is working on. Lol.

no offense intended to him. Still a very good build. Yours just hits all the right spots for me.

  21. It’s fully tug welded. This is silicone bronze over top- has a much lower melting temperature and is really nice to blend and finish.

  22. Thanks man! It’s slowly coming along!

  23. Played around with some powder coating today. Lots of different samples, the finish is cool. I’m not one for fake patina but I like the way it turned out! 8830EBBD-4BCC-403F-AB20-CC629A51C8BC.jpeg 27A919AF-B11B-43DD-8348-4FD331F899E3.jpeg 74E1C2F4-3E2E-4530-85D3-FC5606BF9F0E.jpeg 2904197D-DD43-41FA-8994-81E45E20225F.jpeg 7069440D-0874-401A-A02D-F262B3A6BCCF.jpeg 0490D8BB-D0D7-4736-B8A2-D85BF32A78F5.jpeg 9073ECD7-E3F7-47FB-AB62-04ED665AF2B6.jpeg 18E67809-5605-46CD-AECF-C1B0FB869313.jpeg

Fake patina only sucks when you can tell it’s fake! If you can’t tell, it’s art.

You had me stopped in my tracks on the second pic of your first post... I recognize that road! I've driven on it a million times! Then as I scrolled I see Kelly and I knew you were in Kamloops! Cool build and great fab work brother. I see you're friends with Karl from make it kustom. Watch lots of his videos and another great guy. Hope to see your roadster in person some day.

That column drop is beautiful. Some food for thought when I get to that point.

  30. Front spindles and hubs mocked up, with running the round back spindles it might look goofy running the steering arm but I can live with it for now. I found a pitman that fits the box and plan to running early ford drag links I will thread a bar and also for the cross steer I will run the ball ends and use the early ends. I just like the way they look.
I’m digging the way those 17” wheels look though- these Olympic ‘balloons’ are awesome but the side walls and pretty old and cracked.
I have 18s for the rear and looking for a nice set of 700s or 750s maybe Dunlop?
    Pedals next week.
Then motor disassembly to hopefully run the 284F cam .425/.425 I’ve had from Shneider

    Hudson turned six months today. He popped by the shop to have a look. 3D67DFDE-0E33-4ED3-9675-EADED50150B9.png AC316138-BD0D-401D-AC4B-B3EDFAB21F18.png 76E77897-F125-4042-9527-3D4E395707FD.jpeg D36E81F9-2F4C-4077-9C60-54300ED69080.jpeg D3B4A1C1-5979-4CEF-A447-C212B08B89F6.jpeg 14A57918-2FD9-417E-A86D-CB740FF06971.jpeg 45B110F5-C771-459B-BC61-B3E8EFC2DC01.png 7CF294B2-F94B-4F1C-A4C3-05BDA79C8F3A.jpeg F56B733B-E600-4AB3-AA18-A4D556A0CEE4.jpeg 1A79C9D3-CB70-45BF-B34F-5DFF0A861DB8.jpeg 6D123B1B-7B43-4A8A-B7E3-B20897911DD7.jpeg 08261298-62CA-4F1A-A42E-1E4C613C78E0.jpeg 68661308-FA43-4569-9D51-7C9B844250C2.jpeg 324B8303-CCCA-40A1-9108-1DF2BEFE1F7A.jpeg
