I'm in the process of installing a Jamco front disc brake kit on my '56 Merc Monterey Wagon. P***enger side was a snap. Not so much with the driver side install. The sway bar is bent and will not allow enough clearance for attachment and running clearance of the brake line. I need to move the end of the sway bar in about 3/8 of an inch. I'm thinking that using heat is not acceptable. Not sure that clamping the bar and bending with a cheater is the right way either. I don't want to go too far and then have to come back. Apparently Kanter Auto Products offered a 1'' sway bar for this car at one time. Their web site says it is no longer available . Any suggestions ?

I got a sway bar set from them many years ago. It was great.

I worked at ford where they made sway bars
If they didn’t fit the jig, they used a press in the center of the bar to tweak it to fit.
The men were called repair men and I was amazed at what they could do
They never bent at the end always the center, and they never used heat, always cold bending
