This is what I used to do, though none of these vids are me as I have no video of me, just photo's. I believe these are all US Para's, no matter what this shows you what its like.

I do have to say something though. Anyone who claims to be Military Free Fall (MFF) qualified and then call a High Altitude jump a HALO jump are full of shit and have no idea what they are talking about. You cant get HALO qualified only as it is just one type of jump. The Qual is HAPO 'High Altitude Parachute Operations', HALO, HAMO and HAHO are types of jump under the HAPO banner.
Operationally HALO has not been used in decades (High Altitude Low Opening) the sound of your canopy deploying gives you away and negates the the whole reason for getting out at high altitude!
Sorry for the rant, just sick of the BS surrounding MFF.

I have lots. First up is racing...I've been a race fan since I was 7, I'm 15 now, so you do the math....that's over half my life! I volunteer at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville where I've been a tour guide/historian since joining up with the hof in January of 2008. That opportunity has led me to meet guys like Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Mike Helton (President of Nascar) and of course Awesome Bill From Dawsonville which I've grown from being the scared, shy kid of saying 'Hi' to him about 4 years ago, to know even give tours at his race shop. I volunteer at the GRHOF every chance I get, which is most days after school and everyweekend if I'm not doing anything else that would conflict with my other hobbies. But I already know what I want to do with my life. But when I tell people my age they just don't understand and say I'll never get there. I want to be an announcer for racing, and Friday I talked to a guy who is going to let me announce a full season of quarter midgets next year!! I've been on tv twice along with several radio shows, but I do one full time every Tuesday where I have a 'Georgia Racing History' segment. racersreunion.com

Anyway, I also like anything old. I guess it helps since my mother owns two antique stores. Our whole house is like a Cracker Barrel. In the living room, she's got over 20 pieces of pottery (crocks, churns, jugs) and a little bit of stuff on shelves. Just nick-nack type stuff. In the kitchen she's got everything! On shelves she's got old food advertisements (My favorite is a Lone Ranger/Mertia Bread Poster) along with a case of chicken/rooster stuff. On her shelves she's got all kinds of old kitchen gadgets, displays, containers, coffee grinders, tins, really anything that's old and kitchen related. The hallway between the kitchen and my office is set up like an old general store, complete with a 1920's wooden rotary telephone that I gave my mom that I got from a friend that was his parents. Then in my office is everything soda/coke. But mostly Coca-Cola stuff. I wish I had a few old signs, but I really can't afford anything like that. I've got tons of old bottles, posters, prints, just really everything along with a new/old record player (a new one made to look old) and I play my Elvis records on it as I am a huge Elvis fan. I've got about 12 of his albums, but there not the common ones either. I've some such as his first professional album with RCA in 56', his first Golden Records, Blue Hawaii, A legendary performer vol 1 & 2 just to name a few. I've got a few old car stuff like an old, pristine quaker state 6 ft sign that's on display in the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. I've got a few gas cans and another sign, but that's about it.

I also collect old farm stuff. Since I was seven, I've had that type stuff, and still have my John Deere pedal tractor when I got for Christmas when I was 3. When I was seven, I traded a fart machine for a miniature steam engine from the 50's which I rigged up to run off of an air compressor. Later on I also got some mini attachments to go with it. A power hammer, drill press, and a connector piece. This fall, my grandpa put them all on a board of wood so it runs like a workshop! So cool! Then that same week after I got that mini steam engine, my grandpa built me a 1937 Briggs and Stratton WMB Washing Machine motor. He rebuilt it and re-painted it a maroon and built a new wood base for it (He's a master carpenter/wood-worker). We used to go to about 12 tractor/engine shows a year, then when the economy went, we went to just one a year since it was about 10 miles and we've helped and displayed it since it first started. This year we went to three this fall, so we got the old Briggs running again just like a charm. This past year my grandpa has been getting back into old engines himself, and is rebuilding stuff like crazy. When he gets done probably in the spring, he will have two maytags, and 5 Briggs. Two FI models a slant fin and straight fin, a FH, and another WMB that he built to run off the vapors of Lantern fuel with NO carbonation. And he has a rare AP model too. And then I've got a kind of rare 1961 Wheel Horse Suburban 550. I got it as an early birthday present at the 2006 Denton NC show (my favorite show). It was all original except the throttle and front tires. We kept it that way for a year, then restored it and kept as much original parts as possible, it's still got the original back tires. I still need to get a new carb (would get just gaskets, but a carb is about 3 dollars more) and I need a fuel shut-off valve for it to run just right. I love to take it to shows, it gets everyone's attention because it's small, unique, and kids love it (I like to let them sit on it) I have offers to buy it everywhere I take it. Although I've always wanted a 40's John Deere whether it be an A, B, H, or onto the 40, 50, 60, etc. But I hope I never have to get rid of the old wheel horse and keep it till' I'm an old man. lol

Yup...so most of my hobbies that's not cars, has to do with cars!

  18. Thanks for the kind words. Everything you see on the railroad, except the trains, stays outside year round. It's been there 26 years through rain, wind, and our 100+ degree summers. It's all meant for outdoor use, the buildings are UV safe plastic. The track is brass rail on UV safe plastic ties. Garden railroading in the US is a fairly well kept secret. There are 100's of layouts around the country. If you would like to learn more, pick up a copy of Garden Railways, a bi monthly magazine.

Motorcycles, Collecting vintage archery.... shooting bows, and making traditional longbows and arrows, shooting guns, and anything that has to do with just hanging out in the middle of the woods. (camping, hiking, fishing, mushroom hunting, antler shed hunting) etc. Strange hobbies to be paired up with hotrods I suppose.....

  20. This 1953 Fairmont rail speeder was an outgrowth of my model railroad hobby. My buddy and I restored this ex Santa Fe speeder about 10 years ago, and ran it with various clubs all over Ca, Az, Co, and N. M. This was an amazing fun hobby, and we had a ball with the speeder. Sadly, my buddy is now fighting cancer, and we sold the speeder last year.
