What paint works best for the flattened black paint? Either rattle can, or sprayed from a gun... I've got a 52 DeSoto wagon that I would like to finish sometime before I die. The body is solid and ready for a quick black paint job. I'll probably paint outside, or in a garage at best. I'd like a paint that resists the weather and doesn't need much in the way of maintenance.
I used Rattle can Krylon from Wal-Mart on my ch***is about 7 years ago, still looks good and easy to get anywhere in the USA....... S****s
Dude, Be sure to get a couple cans of red for the wheels and a fresh grinder wheel so you can grind in whitewalls. Then you'll be super rockeriffic-a-billy
go to your local John Deere dealer, it's called (I think) blitz black, here in OKLA it's 32.00 a gal, works well...
JD blitz back is great, but you can't put good paint over it.The cheapest way is tractor supply fence black. It's $25.00 for 5 gallons and it's lacquer!!!! Has a slight sheen and has held up 5 years outside in Florida.
lol...oh god! theres this chalkboard paint...i think its a krylon brand, but it comes in pints and spray cans in green or black. i've used the black and it freakin rules. if you do your prep right, it gives that nice dp90 ppg satin feel...super smooth.....$4.59 a can at ace and i'm sold...and the kids can draw on it at the cruise ins!!!!!!!! but it cleans off with water and doesn't get saturated in the rain....gotta love that.....
We go to tractor supply "TSC" and get the low gloss black it is perfect $21.00 a gallon the can says to mix with naptha but we have proven that enamal reducer works just fine that way you can control the speed of how fast it dries. The last suggestion is to make sure you throw a shot of hardner in it also available at tracor supply that way if you want to paint over it like flames or stripes it wont lift on ya! Hope this helps
