Ive not used it yet. About a million years ago i came across the product and talked to a sales rep and he is the one that told me they thought spraying it would get rust underneath from humidity in the lines and compressor, etc. i told him about some in the hot rod community that would be interested and hell, i'd just brush/roll it on etc if i didn't have pure air. He was intrigued and i think i put it in his head, because now they offer kits for cars and other implements when before they had nothing like that. I gotta start getting paid for my ideas....

I left a sand blasted deck lid out in the weather for months with Gibbs on it. Never got any rust. I use that s%*# on everything!

Had a Healey 100-4 in HS and another one after I got out of the Army. Best looking Healey ever and maybe any English car of the era excepting maybe a Lotus 7 but that's JMO. That said would love to see more of your 100-4 but might be considered OT.

Because wiping a car down every few weeks takes 15-minutes.

    It rains here too.

Take lots of pictures of the car while it is still bare metal. Give up on the idea and paint the car.

Your car may prefer a bed to a cot. :)

I purchased a case of it when I was building the truck, it was way too much. I'll send you a couple of cans if you haven't already ordered it.

IMG_5498.JPG Here is my experience using clear coat (PPG product) on bare metal. Last year my wife did this horse, we had let it sit in the"elements" and it was starting to get some rust. I sandblasted it and then she added some "copper " patina , can't remember what the product was but after she did that I shot it with the same PPG clear that I used on my roadster. It has been outside since then. Here are pictures. IMG_5750.JPG IMG_5751.JPG IMG_5752.JPG

I'll join the chorus: Gibbs! I kept a project car in bare metal for 4 years using Gibbs. Yes, it was in a garage--but it was an unheated garage in oh-so-moist western Washington. Re-wiped it periodically. No issues when it came time to paint.

Why do you need to put anything on the aluminum panels?

I don't need to clear over the aluminum. I guess I can just tape off the steel and gibbs it.
