does anyone know where I can get a 49-53 ford flathead rebuild kit? I saw one on ebay for 750 bucks is that the best deal which ones have quality parts which ones do you recommend? or would it be cheaper to buy all the parts from speedway separately? any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

I bought my rebuild kit from Patricks some time ago, and it was around $850 bucks then. As I recall it had all brand name parts in it. I still have the kit as I haven't built the motor yet if you wanted me to check on some of the mfg. names for you.

Best gaskets. Egge pistons. Hastings or Grant rings. Melling oil pump, Fed-Mog bearings if 49-53. Sometimes King bearings or various NOS or NORS bearings on the earlier engines.

Patrick's did me a good job. If I do another Flat motor I will just let my machinist get the parts from his supplier. I think it will be as cheep and make him much happier than carrying in the parts.
