There are a few threads about Hershey and vendors buying stuff early in the meet. What was the best deal you jumped on before you parked in your spot or on the first walk about? For me it was a 1933 Pontiac grille like the one Isky used on his T roadster, Schafer 8 Buick Indy car used one too. Keep it for years, great wall hanger, then I needed something else and it went down the road. Bob

When I was about 15 (long ago) , I found an original Bell 3 spoke midget wheel in a $2.00 pile, was walking back to our space and a guy comes up and offered me $75.00 for it. I owned that one about 5 minutes!

I have to give my wife credit for this one. Mid '70s walking the aisles and turned around and my wife's not there. I wait at the end of the aisle and see my wife and son carrying this huge box. At the time my son was into baseball cards and saw this box and asked my wife if she would buy it. Asking price was $20 but my wife got it for $10. Over 5 thousand cards and I can't believe what was in the box. Dozens of Pete Rose, Micky Mantel, Whitey Ford, Willy Mays, I could go on and on. She never lets me forget it.

^ My wife did the same for me. Found a box full of 60's Aurora and Tyco slot cars for a couple of bucks. Ended up being some of the best cars in my collection. This was not at Hershey though. I think it was at Chryslers at Carlisle back in the late 90's.
