Another vote for Texas. And don't forget no state income tax.
As some others have said "wherever you go, there you are".

Not necessarily. Many states, California included, have reached the point where there's way more people who want to ride in the wagon than want to pull it, and the pullers get fed up with it and leave. Point is, those leaving were more likely to be part of the solution, than part of the problem.

I live in Ohio and just closed on 1.3 acres on Watts Bar lake. Will be breaking ground soon. I'm retire and very tired of the snow and cold.

Northeast Tennesse - No vehicle inspection program, no state income tax, no personal property tax, license plates $24 (except in a few counties that have a "wheel tax"). You'll have two or three months of winter weather, but the remainder is very pleasant. The cost of living is low, by national standards. Lots of history and geography to enjoy, all within short driving distances.

NEW YORK. you can title your car in about an hour all you need is a vin, old cars are still in the woods and in farmers fields, dragstrips are in every major town and some smaller one's too and the law and government isn"t trying to squash out the Hobby, oh and did I mention that there are so many cars shows during the summer that you have a tough time deciding what one's to go to.

I am in Pa and we have a lot to offer here .
Jalopy Showdown , Beaver Dragway for the drags , Hershey for the AACA show , Carsile Events car shows , Maple Grove Raceway , York for the Street rod East & now we can take our traditional there ! There are a ton of car shows and swap meets in Pa , Md , NJ , NY, Ohio . All these places are with in a days drive .
The summers are not to bad and either are the winters . This winter is making up for the last 7 years without much snow !

Now if you just want to to stay warm and lay back , the south west is as good as any .

I used to live in Prescott AZ, for about 4 years. GREAT PLACE! Especially if you enjoy the outdoors. Honestly though, as far as the hot rod scene, I wasnt overly impressed. There are a lot of cars around the area, but not a ton of shows and not many people seem to converse. I spent most of my time working on my own cars or enjoying the land.

Southern Califorinia's got to be the best. I live in northern California on 5 arces with 10 acre parcel neighbors. Not crowded around here.

If you are at all interested in California, keep in mind that Los Angeles and the Bay Area are tiny parts of California. You here about those areas most because that is where a lot of the people live. If you live outside of those areas, you get the benefit afforded by the large area and the comfort of a rural lifestyle - cake and eat it too.

If it were me, (and unfortunately it ain't, STUCK forever in the frozen north) it'd be any that doesn't see a significant amount of winter. Texas would be my first pick, but apparently everyone is moving there.

I used to live in so.cal. most of my life ,, got way too pricey ..
moved to Arizona 10 years ago.. you can drive your car all year round .. summer is kind of hot ,, a/c will be a necessity if in Phoenix area .. Prescott is nice if you don't mind a little snow this time of year ..it's 70 deg. down here today .. been that way for 2 weeks ..
great shows and lots to do here...my 2 cents worth .... ARIZONA..

  17. I would think so-cal. I am jealous of them. Maybe Austin. No-cal seems more laid back and may be cheaper cost of living. Then, you could always road trip it to so-cal for car shows and the like.

I'd go with the southwest...Arizona or Nevada. Good cruizin' weather. Have you ever been to Hot August Nights in Reno? It is great! Don't get me started on California...I wouldn't live there if you paid me.

Florida - Carshows everywhere. Miami, Ft. Lauderdale Tower Shops, West Palm. No billet in Gainsville, Orlando, etc. Lots of Hot rod shops and builders. No state tax. Good looking Girls at the Beach. Drive all year except rain.
