At the recommendation of another HAMBer I moved this over from questions and suggestions. Thanks in advance guys.

    best intake for 302/AOD
I am making out my Christmas list. With that in mind, I need an intake manifold to top off a 1978 Thunderbird 302 using stock heads, rods, cam and an AOD trans. I was looking at some late model Mustang and Edelbrock intakes and carb combinations, but I'm just a little confused. Some sources say I need a Lokar linkage while others say an AOD won't work at all. But I know Ford used this combo a lot.

This is going into a '51 F-1. I want a reliable daily driver with some balls for towing my camper or draggin' on main street.

    Any recommendations?

The Lokar stuff works fine. I've had it on my coupe with a 351W/AOD for ten years. Make sure you read the instructions, and that the linkage has no slack in it.

This is an easy swap. My favorite....Use the Lokar Throttle valve kit. Just follow the instructions to the letter, otherwise you plan on a cooked tranny within a block if the pressure is not set correctly. Been there, done that. So far as an intake goes...anything your heart desires...1X4, 2X4, 3X2, homemade 6X1. Doesn't matter. The only thing thats important is the TV pressure.[IMG]
