I know we are all on budgets and I would like to see if anyone has found a deal on air ride fittings. Whether its a local shop in SoCal, or on the internet. I would like to use compression fittings, and not the ones from the hardware store, it seems like they always leak. Any advice is appreciated!
Check your local big truck brake shop - that is where the fittings originally came from. Most are significantly cheaper than hot rod stuff......
I always get my lines and fittings at the local semi truck parts supplier I get all the lines made to length I hate the plastic type lines I use lines that look like hydrolic lines you can even use hydrolic lines if you wish way better than that plastic crap it always leaks. That shop is also the cheapest around to custom cut driveshafts.
Thanks for the suggestions, the truck shop makes sense, then I can touch and make sure I have all the right parts. Have a good one!
McMaster car is the cheapest I've found for just about anything. Including fitting. I just bought some 5 min ago after seeing this post. brass connectors 250 psi 3/8" tubing x 3/8 npt elbows for about $5!!!!!
Having done the air ride fittings dance the past year, I confess I haven't shopped around, just took advantage of employee discount at the Napa I work at. But the Weatherhead parts we order and offer are the same that outfit other local big rig shops order from. I've found snap-lock parts - not farrel-based - fittings are really the way to go. Worth the extra buck. Also: find the parts house with an employee or two that know what they're talking about with this, so it's not just part numbers they're looking up. It should save you return trips and help you learn more.
Ditto on Mc Master and they drop it at your door...here in California usually the next day if you order by 5pm
I finally placed my order, and to my surprise they are 10 minutes from my house. So my ground shipped order will come next day. And for future use, they have 24/7 will call, so screw 24 hour AutoZone... hahahah
