I have Diamondbacks on my Lumpy car and they are the best in my opinion. They have been on my 48 for about 5 years.....and I would bet I have backed up more miles in the last 5 years than some of you have been forward.....been in 15 different states....to different shows...I can't wait until I retire..I'm gona get serious then.
I just got a quote this morning from Coker. I wanted some 7.10 15s in the Coker Cl***ic, turns out its now a discontinued tire. They are replacing them with Garfield brand tires, 3" white wall. With the Alliance discount they cost $90 a piece, set of 5 shipped to my door roughly $560.
does diamondbacks have a web site or where could a guy in ohio find them im gonna need rubber for my shoebox this year soon ...i hope im wanting radial whitewalls that have somewhere between 2 and 21/2 inches of white
i had coker's on my buick and had nothing but problems with turning yellow and going flat. Lucas in Long Beach is a good spot or the White Wall candy shop is a good spot.
WOW, just checked out Summit....beating everybody including the "Bay" by 30-40++ bucks each for the tires I was looking for....so glad they are only 50 miles away from me.
check this guy out..HonestCharlie02@aol.com also phone is 330 872 1205 days 330 872 1200 evenings He is located in Newton Falls Ohio and a lot of the guys in this area deal exclusively with him because of the good deals and the quality of his products..Also sells old cars & parts.. His name is Charlie Fields
Yeah bro! the ones on that 54 that i saw at m*** and sac customs merc 'grym' those tires one those cars look soo bad***! I was just looking for places to get good deals, thats what i had in mind tho.
6.70s would look neat-o on your car. I'm running cokers, I like them. f-78-14's, They wear okay, I don't drive as much as Denise, but I used them daily and they wore pretty well. They sit out side, and as long as I keep them clean, they're clean. No yellowing or anything. All in all, I like them. They are expensive as hell, I can tell you that now. They're worth it, but just pricey. I think when I need to buy tires again, I'll be buying a set of 15 inch wheels and going to 6.70s. I like the look of coker cl***ics, they're more plain than the BFG Silvertowns or 'stones. Fits my car better. I dunno, good luck anyway!
Chevy 54...They didn't get out of round sitting there . They come out around from the Mexican factory that there built in ! I had a set on my car for about 800 miles. Had to take them off,the front end about hopped off the ground @ 55 ! Damm things were oval ! Wheel weights half way around the rims ! NO help...Mounted new diamond backs on the same rims,no problem.23 k on them know.
www.dbtires.com The ONLY way to ride. Had cokers, wouldn't stay on the road. It felt like the rear end was coming loose. I have bought 4 sets of whites and a set of redlines from them....top notch. I had to replace one after a minor mishap in the autocross (see current Goodguys Gazette), Bill had it to me next week. Cost me $798 delivered to Charlotte for the set I have now.
I have bought 13 tires from Coker and have been very pleased with them. Look good, ride good and I feel good... The alliance membership helped out a good chunk..
thanks man, yeah thats what i was lookin at. the coker 6.70s and the firestone 6.70s thats my only concern is cost.....
ive always bought my tires from the whitewall candy store out here in so cal they are the west coast carrier for DimondBack tires they also carrie the bias ply tire in all brands is a good one stop shop, they offered my free install for the purchase of 4 tires.
I bought 4 Coker Firestone wide whites last year and can't seem to get the white cleaned properly. They seem to have a 'yellow/tan" tinge to them & streaks , no matter how much you scrub them. I called them and they said try "Simple Green" no change, maybe I just ain't doing something right.
I think Coker's bias tires are OK, but my experience with his radial WWs was a disaster. I had NINE Coker Cl***ics fail with tread separation on my shoebox, and finally replaced them with Diamondbacks. Zero problems since. I have since put DBs on my '56, too. Perfect.
Diamond back is the way to go, I had Coker on my 48 caddy the car had a bad bounce at 50-55 put Diamond back on and the bounce went away. I have a few friends that bought www from Diamond back and love the way they ride!
I've had 4 sets of Cokers. No mas! They drove well on my pickup, actually better than radials, but cosmetically very disappointing. The Coker rep I talked to at Billitproof could not have cared less. The white walls on two of the last set stuck out farther than bad porta walls. Coker didn't want to talk about them. I gave the tires away. Actually I gave the wheels to a friend and he did not make me keep the tires. It is good to hear that others have had better luck.
Alliance member here and 4 Cokers Firestone wide whites were what I got. You can't beat the look of Firestones!!!
I'd love to support Coker and buy from them, and I have bought from them in the past, but when it came down to $150 to ship I couldn't pony up. Jegs has no sales tax and free shipping and it saved me about $200. But they're still from Coker just through Jegs I believe. I'm running bias just because I think they look better, it calls for a little more concentration when driving cuz bias tires pull with any line in the road you drive over, but they look cool as ****.
