Where can a guy find a 50's-60's project car.I watch the hamb classifieds of course.I also watch craigslist and epay. Can anyone give me info on salvage yards that sell buildable project cars.I've always been able to buy one through "a guy that knows a guy".I don't want to pay for a nice driver because I have my own plans on how I want to do my next build. This is not to meant to be a "wanted classified" but an inquiry for info on places members have had successful transactions with, thanks.

I just called Owen's salvage,Bob said they didn't have any project cars right now.

I suspect 90% of the Ramblers still in existence need someone to love them. There has got to be one waiting out there for you. This is going to turn out good.

If I can just find places that have multiple project cars I could find a project that interests me even if it might not be a rambler or morris minor.Looking for the places with all the old iron.

This isn't a 50 or 60s project car but I got this info from a buddy just this afternoon so I am going to throw this out there for your consideration: I have a friend who is selling his sport coupe. It may be a 1928 or 29, not sure. The car is in very good condition, new wood, 16 inch wires, needs top, interior, and paint. He is asking $5500 and will help with delivery within a reasonable distance of Va. Car has a title as well. Doesn't get much better than this! Here's a pic. If you are interested shoot me a PM and I'll put you in touch with him. 20170124_163637.jpg

Rusty Rocket I had the same problem with a 47 coupe I had. Nobody wanted to buy the car with a nice 350, 5 speed, 12 bolt posi rear, good paint, nice chop, all new glass, AC... I ended up trading it for a 31 Brookville roadster body!

Hard to grasp nobody wanting a '47 Coupe...but a Rambler...or a Nash Statesman, or a well, where do you go from here? Kaiser Manhattan?

There's also a cool '62 here in Boston for 1100.

Oddly enough there are both a 59 and 60 2 doors right now in Maine, both too much $, too nice

Wish you were looking a month ago, there was a 2 car package deal (late 50's) ramblers for super cheap. One was 2 doors, on CL. Ad was there for months. Gone now. You should have luck on CL, Ramblers have to be the most abundant old cars there. I had 2, loved those things.

There's a slick Morris Minor Mini in NY right now

These are common enough you should be able to find one closer. I just figured I would search a bit locally so you could see what's available up here.

( I don't know much about minis, but I couldn't find any reference photos with those rubber bumbers and fender flares. After market? 70's limited edition? Not sure that is a 60, but is was sold at auction as one and is registered as one. Way cooler than the bmw modern version anyway )

Have you checked out that place near Pella, IA, on 163 toward Des Moines? They have a whole yard full of oldtrucks, but some cars and wagons, too.

If you can't find it here, it ain't out there. Been here several times. For starters, they currently have a 55 2-door sedan and a 57 2-door hardtop.

If you decide on as Morris Minor . PM me as I have built several V-8 Morris's and am building a straight axle one now. I can give you some tips.

Hook up the trailer and take a road trip. Get out of the house and off the internet. You get to see some country, meet people. I just got home from a 1000 mile dealer swap run yesterday and saw at least 100 50s and 60s cars and trucks setting in farmyards along the way, plus the ones with for sale signs in them.
