who makes the nicest set of rails? gonna start on a 31 roadtser on 32 rails soon. not looking for a whole frame already ***embled .i searched the last thread was from 2008 anything change since then?
American Stamping (ASC) makes a good rail for a reasonable price. An outfit in Detroit was making a very nice set also, but they are expensive and I'm not sure if they are still in business or not. The ASC rails are sold by Honest Charley and many others.
After boxing contless pairs of ASC rails my rail boxer moved away and I've been using JW Garage boxed rails. I haven't had any feed back from my customers about them. I was always happy with the ASC rails after we boxed them.
I have a set of "JW Rod Garage" rails, which used to be "Dearborn Deuce"... These rails have the c-notch stamped right in and appear to be high quality rails. If you buy the rails that have already been jigged up and boxed, you may get by with spreader bars and jack stands on which to build your frame, notice I said MAY... If you get the rails bare, you're prolly going to need a frame table or some kinda jig to hold everything where it needs to be. There is quite a bit of tweaking required to get them right...
