  1. Beaner! :D

  2. Alabama has low taxes but it shows in the crappy roads. Good weather if you like hot and humid and second only to Oklahoma in tornadoes. Easy to get most any kind of old car registered but with a lot of people lying about having insurance you take a chance driving a valuable old car here.
I like it here or I would move but as I get older the weather extremes here bother me more. Most everyone here thinks like I do.....hope thats not an indication of inbreeding....

Actually Florida is pretty good. Good roads, nice secluded two lanes, gals in skimpy outfits, decent weather, gals in bikinis or hot pants, lots of car shows, swap meets, gals in bikinis and low blouses, cruise nites never far from home, gals sometimes topless, many retired car guys with cars and experience.....oh yea girls.
Taxes are decent, there are lots of cars and parts for sale because old guys from everywhere else are too old to work on them after bringing them down, and lots of shops to build them while us old guys sit in our lawn chairs on the beach lookin at girls.

  7. The Honorable David Crockett said it best:

"I must say, as to what I have seen of Texas, it is the garden spot of the world. The best land and the best prospect for health I ever saw is here, and I do believe it is a fortune to any man to come here. There is a world of country to settle."

And it still holds true 176 years later.

  8. Az is ok car wise. Easy to title projects, but a few counties have emission testing on newer cars. Weather is HOT, but winters are great. I'm right at the corner where AZ, NV, and CA meet, so its not a bad drive to vegas/phx/ or many cali shows. As for being close to the coast, we are just waiting for cali to fall off into the ocean.

No jobs here though, so if you dont work for yourself,,,,, forget it.

Wanna see which ones are going to be the future of "best" places to be? See which ones have a time bomb of debt growing...where do you think they're going to get that money? You'll be happy if you have a bicycle, let alone a hot rod.

Never been to Texas. Always wanted to visit and almost checked it out when we retired. Closest we got was across that little pond from it. I do believe it's the only state that could become it's own country and survive. The rest of these here United States are just a state of confusion waiting for our King to put fences around.

My wife is from Texas and we spend quite a bit of time there. We were down there most of the summer.
I love Texas but from what I can see some of the drawbacks are:

    1) It's hot
    2) There are bugs everywhere and they all want to either sting or bite you.
    3) It's hot.
    4) Real estate property taxes will kill you if you live in a town or city.
    5) Seems every little hole in the wall town has huge fancy new schools and the people in the area pay for them through taxes.
    6) Health care will cost you dearly, although that is true for all the other states too.

And last of all it's freakin hot :D

I wouldn't recommend the interior of Alaska Unless you enjoy 40 below zero,Ice fog, 20 hours of darkness or more in the winter , but the summers are great 24 hours of light .

First off, that was an obvious joke. Or, did you REALLY have that happen? Really?

Second, it seems you need to go back to lurking.
