I am redoing the window seals in the doors of my 1950 mercury. The sweeps are shot and when I removed them I found they were attached with staples that went through the sweeps and the metal behind them. That was one strong stapler! Is there another good way that someone has used to attach new sweeps on the car? Maybe an adhesive?

The staples are out there. My Ford Falcon strips cam with the holes in them. They matched the holes in the body perfectly. I just flattened the ends with pliers.
I used the same 3M adhesive that I used for setting the window gl*** in the channels. works great on the window fuzzies. HRP
