The downside of using a straw is the bad aftertaste from the thinner used to get the paint off my tongue......
Thank you. I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

I use plastic spoons. Use one to dip out the paint and throw it away. One for the activator and throw it away. Cheap and no clean up.

  5. two strips of duct tape; one stuck around the inside of the paint can with the lower edge stuck to the edge, wrapped 3/4 of the way around the can. then another piece on the out side so the sticky parts meet. this will give you a cheap disposable pour spout.

New plastic syringes almost always use silicone lubricant on the inside of the barrel. Not a very desirable combination....

Post# 36 is the best way to do it,go to a paint supply store, they will either sell you a can topper,or maybe even give you one if you are buying the stuff there, make sure it is the right size, they have a plastic "flipper" on top that can be removed and you can hook a drill, run it for a couple of minutes each time, makes it well stirred, and it is easy to pour too.another thing is to look for a small mixing bank, one that holds 4 or 5 cans,I have one in my shop for the same thing,i got it for free at the local Cmax, they were throwing it out anyway, works perfect. 10. Phobias are irrational, but there is nothing irrational about not wanting to contaminate your paint. If I were going to dip anything in my paint I would go to a chemestry supply and get a glass pipette. It can be cleaned and will not carry contaminates if used and cleaned properly.

Tman has an excellent idea by the way.

Stainless steel ladles are the way to go. They come in a variety of sizes, the handles are hooked so you can hang them and they're easy to clean.

I mix small qualtities of paint all the time. I have an old set of stainless measuring spoons on a ring, (tbls., tsp. etc) I got when we bought a new set for the house. I also confiscated a SS cup set, from 1/4 cup to 1 full cup. Very useful...I also have a set of beakers I use to mix small batches of paint, or mux custom paint in. If you're going to paint a lot, these are great additions to the paint bench!
Also get a box of tongue depressors, to mix in the smaller containers.

I always save the little plastic scoops w/handles that come in fitness supplement cans, cold remedy medicene cups (Nyquil?), and once acquired at a garage sale, urine specimen cups still in the plastic wrapping. Also for when a little bit more paint amount is needed a glass measuring cup. The clear glass cleans very easily and has mils, ounce and cup measurment scales on the side. Haven't tried the screw in the can lid method but that a neat idea I'll have to try.

Find a meth addict, poke a small hole near the top of your paint can and hand it to the addict. hold a dixie cup under the paint can while the addict does all the shaking. Return addict to the parking lot of Walmart when finished.
