Hot Rods Best way to move a locked solid car

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dave7, Jun 8, 2015.

  1. Or roll it on wood fence posts at least 6" in diameter, and move them from back to front as they roll over each post. That way you have it rolling on three posts while moving the fourth.

  2. Fence posts from Tractor Supply or such, roll it around like riggers do when moving heavy machinery.

Further thought, if you use planks or plywood cover them with builder's plastic then apply water and shampoo. It will slide so easy you will have trouble keeping it on the planks.

If no wheels are available you could take a couple of wooden 4X4 or 6X6 and taper the ends up like runners, set the car on them and slide it up like a sled.

I moved a 39 buick sideways with just a cheap come a long attached to my pickup truck, and it is a lot
bigger than your car. should not be a problem.

  6. I Was going to offer a suggestion, but juhap kinda trumps my method. I guess completely rusted and mashed up Typ 2's are worth a Lot more than you'd assume.

ah hell, I'll offer anyway. Last week I moved an 8x20 building using my car trailer. I dug a bit and used my floor jack to get it up in the air, got the trailer under it and then kept the jack under an end and rolled it using the jack wheels. Didn't even need the movers dollys
