Best wheels you've seen on a tri-5??

One day I was walking around on the "set up day" at a car show a long time ago. It is one of the best ways to see a car show as there is no general public allowed inside to clutter things up. It was just the car guys setting up their cars for the displays. (and of course, the credentialed photographers)

Normally, the Fri-Sun car shows allow all day Thursday for the "set up" day and it is one of the best... Even though it is busy for the owners, they all like to talk to photographers and other hot rodders. When the arenas are open at 8 am, by 10 am, most of the cars have rolled in and are starting their set up.

I have always liked 55 nomads, just because the stock, rear wheel arch is perfect for larger tires and rims. This black 55 just happen to have the wildest flame paint job I had ever seen. But, the wheels were just perfect for the black 55.

For me, just being a black 55 nomad would have been fine, but those flames intrigued me... I have been a flame nut since the very early days of my drawings and model car building.

 

when I was in High School 1970ish there was a guy in town built a beautiful 1956 post car, black, 50's truck straight axle, chrome reverse rims. That car was beautiful and fast, though even he admitted it
was about a second from the class record. Never forgot that car.
