The only roadster I had ever been in previously had wood floors and I dug it ! Decided to give it a shot and I'm super happy I went that route.

it does look nice just wondering what did you do for the seat?
and what springs do you have under it? I put a posie reverse eye rear spring in mine and am not happy with the stance in the rear!
going to start taking more leaves out and see what happens

I was going to do wood floors in my 27 Coupe. A lot of rodders do the wood floor. They do look good.

I'm doing something very similar (putting a '37 21-stud in a '31 roadster) to what you did and wanted to talk firewalls. Did you have to recess yours at all or did the motor fit? I know guys with 24 studs have a VERY tight fit and most have to move or alter their breather tube to miss the firewall.

My motor is off being worked on and I am trying to figure out if I can get away with using a stock firewall with a "stock" radiator in stock frame holes. I'm getting a Brookville body, so I can get a recessed firewall, but I'd like to avoid if possible. I'm also running a stock gas tank, so I'd run the stock mechanical fuel pump on the breather (if it fits).

  7. I can't see a 21 stud versus a 39-48 24-stud flathead making any difference as far as firewall clearance. Now when you get to the 49-53 engines with the different distributor setup . . . things can get a bit more difficult at the front of the motor, due to pulley locations, etc.. The manifold and breather tubes on 32 - 48 are in the same locations.

Any pics of the f1 clutch arm where it mounts to the frame instead of the throw out shaft?
    Thanks,

I did have to modify the breather to get it to fit . Stock A radiator that was converted to work with a Flathead in the stock location , made a new breather plate and put a slight angle to the breather tube which gave me just enough room to fit a cap . It's all a real tight fit , but it works !
