I simply can't wait to put the Aurora gauges in my project car. Bought a complete set app 4 years ago... Still in the boxes. Maybe I should leave them there...
Makes you want to shove them where the sun dont shine on the Hoffman group. There cheap crap to begin with and I know the feeling.
Sorry to hear about your dealings with them, it is a shame that "Made in the USA" anymore seems to mean "F*** You !!!" I luckily found out how they treat people before spending any money with them. I contacted them about building a custom tachometer using an old alarm clock for a project I was working on. Right off the bat the guy I was talking to said " why the F*** would you want to do that, that is the stupidest F***ing thing I ever heard of !!!" From what I have heard and read from others both here and other places this is quite indicitive of how they treat (potential) customers.
I guess I'll just put them in and see. After all, they are of the standard size. Who knows. Some of them might even work!!!
Holy Moly !!! I had a set of Aurora gauges all picked out and in my "cart" until I found this thread.... Any updates in quality or better customer service with these guys ????
In this wonderful age of social media go onto their facebook page and post your issues. I had a response in 3 hours. They still sell shit and I'll never buy another Hoffman product but at least it made them react and solve my LAST problem with their crap.
Avoid anything from the Hoffman group at all costs, these pricks would sell a rats arse to a blind man and tell him it's a wedding ring for a dollar !
Would help to know just what automotive oriented brands are part of the Hoffman group. What other types and brands of what do they own?
I know this is an old thread, but I have to wonder, why can't we make good gauges anymore? Besides the junk mentioned above, the speedo in my OT '04 Monte Carlo doesn't work, the gas gauge on my '02 Blazer doesn't work! But I drove both of my old Mopars, stock, for 20+ years each. And all the gauges in both worked perfectly, even after 60 years of service! And I have hooked up the stock 1936 Dodge gauges to my 331 hemi, works just fine. So why can't we make gauges that work?
A rat's arse for a wedding ring?? I am soooo using that. I found a S/W temp guage by the side of the road on the way to the dump Saturday. Drove by it on the way in and picked it up on the way out. It works. What other quality products does the "Hoffman Groupe" sell? Its like J.C. Whitney without the quality, apparently. Gull wing kits for your HHR.??? Mmmmmmkaaaaaayyyyy.
I see Lonnie Gilbertson is still promoting the Aurora gauges... The sad thing about the Aurora gauges is that they have ruined a perfectly good idea with bad quality. The option to make gauge faces at home without any special tools is very good. I have done it myself and it wasn't hard at all. By the way, this is the Hoffmann Group brands: Aurora gauges. http://www.auroragauges.com/ Helix suspension stuff.http://www.helixsuspension.com/ Keep It Clean wiring acessories. http://www.keepitcleanwiring.com/ Vintage parts. http://www.vintagepartsusa.com/ Trigger Horns. http://www.triggerhorns.com/ Zirgo cooling products. http://www.zirgo.com/ Auto Loc custom stuff. http://www.autoloc.com/ Stellar, secutrity systems. http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/stellar/ So now you know what to look out for.
i also think "gearhead" parts is a rip -off !! there local & have met some of there employees & they are slobs & idiots & all there parts are junk /most stuff you see at a rod show is returned crap somebody sentback that was junk !! and in most cases they dont want to do any refunds ___ unless the credit card company forced them !
I'm not sure why you put your comment under this old thread, but you'll need to be more specific. Do you actually mean Gearhead Enterprises (https://www.gearheadworld.com/)? Do you have any actual experience or just opinions? FWIW, I have Faria gauges in my car. They usually make boat gauges but in the early 90's made a series of auto gauges. I had a bulb go out and , 25 years after they were made, they sent me enough replacement bulbs for all the gauges. Free. That, sir, is customer service.
