Can somebody tell me what is the web site for cheap bias plys tires? Iam looking for the Coker tire partner web site. I thought it was cheapwheelsandtires.com but Iam not having any luck. Thanks merle
best thing to do is call Coker and ask what local auto swapmeets they sell tires at and meet them there, avoid the expensive shipping charges. they do that here So California.
Do a google on buycheaptiresandwheels. I think that's it, but many popular sizes won't be there, or just one of each in stock, etc. Sometimes you might get lucky if they just added more inventory.
...or try Wallacewade.com he sells the same tires, and I found he was way cheaper and would allow me to purchase them on the phone and pick them up at an Oklahoma swap meet, and save me shipping and tax! Mr. Wade will probably answer when you call too!
I've bought from Wallace Wade twice. I went in person both times....nice folks. The first time I went in, I asked about the difference between two different brands and the old guy at the counter (I'm ***uming it was Mr. Wade) told me just to come on back to the warehouse and check them out. He told me to take my time looking at them and to come back up to the counter when I was done....then he left me there to take my time. They did as good price-wise as anyone else on vintage tires, but I'll tell you....after being treated so well, I'll buy from them again, even if they don't have the best price.
You may think about becoming an Alliance member.I purchased some tires from Coker Tire at Carlisie last fall. I saved all of the membership cost plus some more. And you can get discounts from tons of other dealers.
try "kelseytire.com" ...right down the road from me and are great people that supply year 1 with tires!!!
it's buycheaptiresandwheels.com . Be careful on the non current old style tires though, I bought a set that way dry rotted and cracked.
Join Alliance, buy from Coker. As far as Coker's outlet, yeah those are $30-40 each, most are NOS tires from 40-60 years ago..... I wouldn't use them on anything other than a trailer queen.
Not completely true. Yes, some are old stock but some of them are current run tires from a recent batch that have a cosmetic molding blemish preventing them being sold as new perfect tires. I have bought some and they were newly made with a minor cosmetic flaw.
Good idea. Also, if you go to their store in Chattanooga, yes, you avoid shipping costs, but you have to pay state sales tax. Best deal is to pick them up at one of the meets they attend around the country.
The coker cl***ic is a cheaper good looking tire. What I like about coker, over all the other brands is that if you do happen to recieve a tire that is out of round or vibrates, they are willing to take the tire back and give you a new one. Lucas tire is less willing to do that. (from my own personal experience)
I've bought 13 tires from Coker, and you could probably add 4 more tires to that soon for my roadster. Join the alliance then call Coker, its a great discount.
Merle, Please take this the wrong way. Today you want the coker cheap tire site and in a month you will be back *****ing because your blems are not up to par.
I'm personally done with bias plies, they look good and have nice profiles but when you consider all the cons like the ridiculous prices, the fact that they don't last long, no traction, increased rolling resistance, etc. Radials look pretty damned good. Bias plies just aren't worth it, I personally think it's dumb to give up quality just for "traditional bragging rights".
I paid 100 bucks apiece to my door for the bias plys on my truck. They will last as long as a radial on the vehicle in question not be as prone to bulges and get plenty of traction (dry, wet or snow). I think that radials verses bias plys are more of a personal choice any more. You can buy radials that look like bias plys if you know where to look. I have nothing against either, I do know the pit falls of both.
I hate to write this, but, America's Tire or Discount Tire beat Cokers price w/ my HAMB discount by $75.00 and they mounted for free. They got my firestones directly from Coker.
Coker obviously is not the only reason to have an alliance membership but that is pretty crazy they could beat it by that much and with shipping savings I bet it was even more...
Man, I'am soooo with you on that! If it's a period built fenderless car that truly needs bias plys to look right, I'm happy to put up with 'em. But damnit, if i'm building something full fendered and a bit "looser" on time period I'll go for better ride and handling from a radial everytime! And, I build stuff low enough if any body bends down to read the sidewalls and *****es about radials, they are in a perfect position to adjust an at***ude with a simple swift kick! That said, the best deal I have found on Coker products in the last couple of years is through Performance Plus over in L.A. I have bought two sets of Firestone "Deluxe Champions" from them for customer cars in the last year and they have been consitantly lots less expensive than through Coker themselves. They have yet to charge me shipping too. 888-926-0211 With all that said, an Alliance membership is a beautiful thing, too!
