i only really needed the tires for rollers and yesterday i got them in from Buycheaptiresandwheels. i paid 78 a tire and i would have to say iam pretty happy with what i got. they have a cosmetic blemish but but for they are perfect.

I've been running biased ply Lesters on the Stude for 84,000 hot rod miles...they only last about 12,000 on the rear and about 17,000 on the front...I've had good luck with them and note no problems in the rain..I'd rather have radials, but can't find an 18" radial that will work with the original 4 1/2" Kelsey Hays wheels and I AIN'T gonna change these for the sake of a radial! Correction, Coker is making an 18" radial by Excelsior but not whitewall, so I can't or prefer not to use...I've had good luck dealing with Eric Maxwell at Universal Vintage Tires in Hershey, PA...Here's their site, but get ready - they have taken a hellova jump in price in the last couple years...Joe

  3. I buy my bias plys at a farm coop but I am not buying 18s or wide whites.

I know that this is probably un called for on my part but I really feel hinky when I am about to mount a modern radial on a non saftey rim. It probably isn't a problem at all I just feel hinky about it.
