FWIW, I think you'd be better off with a good set of forged pistons.

BBC engaged. Told Jamie I was bringing the block up soon, and he said "I can't work on it if it ain't here!".... so I'll take it up there Wednesday morning. Crank looks good, cylinders aren't horrible. None 20230605_181133.jpg of the bearings looked bad. 20230605_175851.jpg 20230605_181139.jpg 20230605_175858.jpg

My first car almost was a Ford. Got’s to thank my friends brother for backing down on his end for not selling it to me. Bought a Chevy instead for half the money. Been a Chevy man since. :)

Well lumpy scared the hell out of me texting! I was asking about the oil filter adapter removal and he told me there's a few issues with the gen v block! I threw a hammer across the shop and kicked the cat :D then he called me and said he was talking about the head gaskets and fuel pump. I said hell i already knew about those issues lmao! I just knew he was gonna tell me bad stuff! But yeah it looks great! If it's cracked, do I get my money back??? :p

I'm a GM guy also, Chevy, Pontiac. But I also have 2 460 Fords under the bench, for future projects if they ever happen. 460 is such a better platform than the BBC. Since Jon Kaase came on the scene parts are readily available.

What was the deal, I've got buddy's that are die hard Ford, and I've heard them talk about twisting the oil pump shaft in the 460's

Kaase cured that with a new design heavy duty oil pump.
    460 Ford has
wider bore spacing = larger bore
taller deck height = longer stroke
cam tunnel higher in the block = no rod/cam clearance problems
wider oil pan rails = no clearance issue for stroker cranks
9/16 head bolts = better head sealing

Oh noes, lets not go into Grandma's ..... I could write a book about my wife Grandma.

She was known as "Big Hellen" at all the local taverns. She was 6'2" 200 lbs.
Just fricking insane the stories she told me. She wanted to dance with you .... you were going to dance.
No way I can estimate how many bar fights she was in over the years ... She won many of them.
Pretty sure she was kicked out of every bar in town at one time or another .....

Was some good times sitting around a fire pit drinking some beers with Granny when she was in her 70's & sorta mellowed out The stories she would tell .... :D

Don't ever say Never. I'm a die hard Chevy Guy, at least I think I am, but these damn Cool Fords keep showing up in my price range and following me home . My price range being defined as Cheap to free. I only paid 1000 for my 59 ElCamino, the only car I ever hunted for, so you can imagine where my Fords and Mopars have been in the price spectrum. Unfortunately, the Ford 406 and 427 have not fallen in my lap, yet

My first car was a '31 Model A when I was 15. Fords were in my blood (along with dabbling with an OT English car or 2). That all changed with a 6.0 Ford diesel. No more new Fords. Older ones like my '39 p/u and '54 Ranch wagon are still OK as long as they don't have a Chevy in them.

Did not see that coming. Laughed so hard I damn near cut my fingers while chopping up bell peppers. Good thing I was already done with the red one’s.

That was my aunt Freda! She was mean  she used to call the cops on herself just to have somebody to fight! They arrested her once, but she told them she wasn't riding in no police car, so they followed her to the jail while she walked :D

I have owned a bunch of Model A Ford's, but I'm that guy that puts Chevy engines in them :D when I was a kid, speed parts for a sbf were quite a bit more expensive than for a sbc. There's a reason why do many old Fords have Chevy engines, instead of vice versa in my opinion
