Kinda feel guilty, I cut glass, I've been cutting glass for 30 years. But scrolling through the internet, looking at 55 Chevy stuff, I found both door glass for $120 shipped to me. No cutting, no sanding, no bitching.... yeah I could've cut them for $40, but I'm not mad about it  I'll still cut the vent windows.

You’ll never stay in practice letting someone else cut your glass. Haven’t cut any glass in years. A friend saw my cutter in the toolbox and wondered how it worked. I went to cut a piece of scrap glass and messed up the snap. I was dumb enough to try and do S curved line first try. Second attempt was better but it only had same direction curves on the ends. But, I’m buying new glass for the 51 as well. My excuse is it comes pre-tinted.

Congrats on another journey around the sun. Don't think of it as 55, you're just 1/2 way to 110!

  6. The car is coming along much faster than I thought it would considering what you started with Brother!

You have much more ambition than I do, right around 55 my decades of thousand mile a day trips caught up to me & it shows in the fact that the cars I build sit for long periods of time between work sessions. Have a spurt of ambition over the last couple of weeks though as I can now leave Laura alone in the house while I walk out to the shop for a couple of hours at a time.

By the way.....I "retire" every time I get to the tread wear indicators!:D

    Lloydfest '24 is gettin' close!!!!!!

    God Bless

Lol I haven't been in the shop. Had to go out of town for a fire department conference.

Don't celebrate too soon brother, guess I gotta change my mounts and move it back. I went off the clutch pivot and apparently I shouldn't have  don't you love doing stuff twice?

No I'll move it back to the firewall, and fabricate a bracket for my clutch pivot on the block

Well, I didn't take pictures, but I went off of the pivot hole above the oil filter. I'll attach a picture. And lined it up with the ball on the frame. Welded my mounts, put my crossmember in and welded the brackets, and in a moment of celebration I tried to put the shift handle back in, but it hit the dash. So I cut it, made it work. Then I realized what the problem was. And the new fenderwell headers I bought state plainly that they fit tri five with the engine in the stock location. So I've gotta nix my setup, and move it all backwards

Wouldn’t it be ok to bolt it in with the front mounts and then weld in the side mounts, and remove the front mounts?

That's freaking genius. I'm cussing you right now :p:D

  25. I had to look it up. This bracket bolts to the cast iron bellhousing. I know you aren’t using an original type bellhousing, so, like you mentioned, it’s fabrication time. IMG_8078.png

Yeah I have all of that, but it's useless for my setup.

  28. I had to look it up, because I’ve never looked at how the clutch linkage works on a Tri-Five Chevy.
