But yes. Have you seen the stock cross shaft bushing setup? That hole in the end of the pushrod is 1/4"

I've made my mind up, I'm gonna run the coilovers in front of the axle, that way there is no interference with my stock gas tank :)

  6. 3/8” Heim joints are very popular on medium/heavy duty truck clutch linkage. They will be plenty strong.

Yeah that's my understanding. I'll put it together, then worry about it, not a big deal to swap out to a lighter spring ;)

Yeah, having a 3/8" bolt vs a 1/4" bolt is a no brainer lol... I stared at that thing, walked away, came back, stared some more.... it's a shoulder bolt, with 1/4-20 threads. I'll fix that. Thanks to Amazon, they'll be here when I get home from the firehouse Thursday morning

OK I have a clutch now. And I pulled the master cylinder in prep for the new 2 pot flavor. Also put the 750 on it. My buddy Dave was at the shop, he helped me with the clutch pedal duties, fired it up and made him smile. Dave was the cat at Lloydfest with the 390 Galaxie. 20240926_165045.jpg 20240926_173511.jpg

Looking great, Lloyd. That oil pressure gauge is gonna have to make it inside the car soon!

I'm scared Steve, I want those old gauges to work that were in the car, figure if I put it off long enough, it won't hurt as bad when they don't work lol...

^^^^^ That’s like hoping for no fish eye’s on your next paint job. Shit happens. That’s what TP is for. :)

Yeah but I'm funny as hell, the gauge is in its current location so as a 1 man show, I can see it while I'm at the front of the car :D I'm to the point now that I've gotta make the trip to get my bench seat, because once I have brakes, this bitch will lot drive

Consider welding some gussets on the Z bar arms.

Rust. R-U-S-T!!! The story of my life! Had ol @scofflaw at the shop today, did some hanging out and bench racing type stuff, put some cowl drains in his project. Taped and primed a little late model job, and before I hung up my blow gun, I pushed the heap in the shop and did some preliminary rust removal. Decide to just ditch the stock tank, it was more like a strainer. So back to putting the coilovers behind the rear axle. Nothing exciting to show, you've all seen rust, but here's some gratuitous hoe pictures... I meant hole, hole pictures. 20241003_164341.jpg 20241003_175241.jpg

And I believe I told you guys about how the last owner hand pleated the side panels? I've torn the majority of it out, but here's a picture of some of his handy work that's left. Imaging a needle and thread, and pleating front to back, door panels included. 20241003_175301.jpg

  28. That is looking great! I have never paid attention to how a ladder bar suspension is set up or works.
