Thanks! Lots of duration and lift (compared to what I'm used to), no wonder why it sounds like the world is ending.

Quick question. Started putting my front brakes together this evening, and ran into an issue. I put my steering arms to the rear, the car is rear steer. Now the steering arms are interfering with installing the caliper bolts. My question is, can I switch my caliper brackets and move the caliper to the front? I don't see why it would be an issue, but i figured somebody here might have been through this. 20240729_151751.jpg

  4. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work, I’ve seen quite a few front mounted calipers on straight axle trucks at work.

  5. If it all bolts together it will work fine.

The calipers don’t care where they are, but the bleeders do. Oh wait, you only asked about the brackets.

You just have to have the bleeder at the top side to blled the brakes, otherwise it will work just fine.

Yeah switching calipers right to left, left to right keeps the bleeder orientation, I'm questioning braking effort and pedal feel. Some of the stuff I've read says changing orientation is a no no, but some of the rear kits I've used have staggered calipers. I'll give it a go

I flipped one on a Strange Engineering rear disc kit. Called them and they said no problem. Sold me a right side bracket for the left side and it's been fine. Their calipers have a bleeder on each end just for this.

  10. That is the same cam that is in Stubby. The only reason Lloyd bought it is because Howards calls it the "Big Daddy" Rattler! LMAO:p Seriously though....They sound amazing.

There appears to be burgeoning grudge match for the 4th of July weekend in London, Ky as the rhetoric is ratcheting up on other social media outlets:D

You can put the caliper on the front, if you want. If it's this design from Speedway, do you have all the brackets in the correct spot (caliper bracket on outside of spindle, steering arm inside)?

Guess I got it. Front steer would've been easier lol... 20250422_181947.jpg

I would be willing to bet that it was. a 60 chev has its steering sector close to the radiator while a 55 has its back by the firewall

Mine has the caliper to the rear and rear steer but it has the Wilwood brakes on it.

Just too much shit in the same place for this to work together lol. And I'm not bashing speedway, because I'm a fan of them, but the caliper brackets were rough in the area where the caliper slides in. Never had that happen, and I've probably used 20-30 disc brake kits from them. I took a file and cleaned that area up, they're good now. Still gotta relocate the brake hose brackets. Always something. Crunch time though, gotta get it all done and shake it down before I drive it to Bowling Green on June 11th lol... I love pressure.

  26. The next line in the movie was, “Yes, but he has good hands”. Your Wagon is looking good, Bowling Green will be here before we know it.
