    hi does anyone know if theres a better timing chain set up than the stock one

    Timing gears are always better.

    You need to make friends with a parts store. IIRC cam end is SBC but crank sprocket is SBF and chain should be BBF. See if sprockets from same manufacturer like Cloyes are close enough in size and pitch. Adjustable cam sprocket probably needed. Neff managed to put together a timing belt combo so it's possible. Also check clearance inside cover to see if double roller will fit. Post results in the Elusive Mercruiser post so info is all together.

    351c and 460 gears sets are the same.the chain length on the 3.7 is longer .from what i can see its a chevy cam gear and a ford crank gear . just need to get a hold of chevy rollmaster set and see if the chain will fit
