I have always wanted to build up an old school hotrod, but lacked the facilities. Now, I have the facilities, but lack the knowledge. I would love to get a hold of a 34 Ford truck, and start working. I have had years of experience customizing and repairing motorcycles, but never really worked on older cars (keeping my toyota truck running just doesn't count). A friend of mine suggest joining the forum, saying you guys really knew your stuff, and would be very helpful. I look forward to getting started on this and reading up as much info as I can get my hands on!
This must be Texas day. Good idea to get on to H.A.M.B I'm sure someone will be able to help you out with the information you need. You just might be able to locate that project vehicle from here as well. Anyway, welcome.
Welcome torque. There are alot of HAMBers in Austin, go hang out on S. Congress or go to South Austin Speed Shop and meet some of them. Also the Lonestar Roundup is March 31 through April 2 there in Austin--be there!
Welcome to the board. The above advise should get you started in the right direction, along with studying old magazines and the internet. Desire and patience will take you to you goal(plus a little money)
Read and ask questions. Try searching a topic before hand, before you post it. There is a ton of great info here. Junk yard run Saturday if you want to meet a few people and check out some older cars. Pretty sure there is not a 34 truck out there though. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89552
My goodness! How's that for a warm welcome! I am for sure going to the round-up. I went last year and was in HEAVEN! Thanks for all the info, if I have any questions, y'all will be the first people I ask.
