Damn..wished there was a blue and white 54 following you...hopefully next year the 30 will be going and i will be out of school...

 

Ken asked me to give an update> They are having a BLAST they just had lunch with a few springfield area hambers at the Cozy Dog Drive in in Springfield, Illinois we had an enjoyable lunch and they hit the road bound for STL to visit family.

 

A week on the road with your pappy, in a '33.............Priceless!

I'm about 30 miles north of I-44 where it goes through Rolla MO. The town is called Belle, where MO Hwy 89 intersects MO Hwy 28.

If you get into a bind and need a shop or a hand while you're in my neck of nowhere, give me a ring.

Careful if you're hitting the mother road, 'cause here in MO she hits back.

Finally rolled into the Chicken Basket to meet OldbobSign and his wife, Gloria. It's been on the original Route 66 since 1938. Food was all it was billed to be - AWESOME.
I bought a batch of bad gas, and it put us an hour late - I HATE BEING LATE !







Finally - time to eat. Gloria, OldBobSign, Ryan, dad.

Now, outside for some artsy shots. Damn near too late for the sun to play a role.

OldBobSign did his magic, and suprised Ryan and I both.

 

Now, Monday morning, and OldBobSign is going to play tourguide. Ryan rode with him, Larry narrated.

Larry was a killer guide, but I still don't know about this sculpture.

This little know monument, is dedicated to the starting point of the first known Auto-Race in America.



Cruised down Lake Shore Drive, and took a right towards the planitarium. tried out best to get some cool skyline shots. It was a crowded city.



Museum we are going to have to visit, when more days in Chicago are arranged.

We parked illegally so many times, Larry was suprised we never got busted.
This is the point where Route 66 Begins...............and it ends 2278 miles later in L.A.....



All these pictures, and we are just at the BEGINNING of the Route?
