I've been hearing a lot obout this HAMB outfit lately so I thought I'd jump in and check it out. My ride's a 53 Belair hardtop rod. I'd call it a street rod but some folks don't consider a pre-trifive fifties Chevrolet old enough to carry that title. Traditional? maybe not, but it works for me. Last summer I made 5 passes in the quarter with this 3600lb taxi and the best I could squeak out with open 3:55 gears, was 14.37 at 98mph. Anyway, here I be... Guts, feathers and all. See ya all on the forum. Charlie from PDX
Welcome, and nice car.. Theres already a Prime Mover here though.. What the hell is a Prime mover, since now theres 2 of you, there must be a definition of that.
Main Entry: prime mover Function: noun Etymology: translation of Medieval Latin primus motor 1 a : an initial source of motive power (as a windmill, waterwheel, turbine, or internal combustion engine) designed to receive and modify force and motion as supplied by some natural source and apply them to drive machinery b : a powerful tractor or truck usually with all-wheel drive 2 : the self-moved being that is the source of all motion Thanks Man, Wow! Two PrimeMovers... what a coinkidink. I put on my Sherlock Holms hat and looked into this strange development. I've Been PrimeMover at Hotrodders.com now since Dec-21-2002. Looks like your Mover's been here at this forum since 12-06-2002. Actually when I picked the handle back in 02 it was after an old race car and I had no idea there was a prime mover here. Infact, just the other day was the first time I've ever been logged onto HAMB. I'm changing my handle here. There's only room for one prime mover on a forum. Thanks for the heads up.
This whole 'Mover thing's caused me to look around a bit. Man, I had no idea this handle has been used so much - really never gave it that much thought either, until now.. There are numerous PM clones all over the place out there, to include one on the Aussi GTO site.. http://63.90.125.204/forums/member.php?u=1874 I seriously doubt anybody ever intentionally copied somebody else's user name here - I sure as hell didn't. The thing is, I'm beginning to think PrimeMover is as common a name as Bob. Getting going here, I'd have already changed my user name but I haven't quite figured out how to do it yet. Any suggestions on how to make it happen, works for me.
