Waiting for the day bud! ;)

Ah yeah, one of the advantages of cruising by oneself

I think I've got every color of bug guts on the front of Big Olds:eek:

So do I...we'd have so much fun! One of these days sweetie.

So you can win the cookies???;)

Your not going to be attending the HAMB Drags?? :(
PM me your address and if I get close while traveling thru Kansas to to Joplin, I'll stop. This one hug I got a couple of weeks ago is NOT going to last me thru the rest of the year. Need another one from my favorite Dick.:D

Uploading to Photobucket is what is taking so long, but yes, I'm in the mountain time zone right now I think.

You got a DEAL bud! You do know that ice cream is like my favorite food group, right??:D

    Friday Aug 7th
    Evanston, WY to Wendover, UT

We were all up by 7am this morning. First thing I did after getting dressed was head out to Big Olds to clean the bugs off the windshield. Can't have bug splattered photos if I can help it.:D

Ok boys, we gonna drive or just stand around talking about driving??

The highway from Evanston to Salt Lake City is wonderfully scenic compared to the rest of I80 thru Wyoming
    [IMG]

Another train that needed Megan's attention:D
    [IMG]

We stopped at the rest area between SLC and Wendover. This rest stop will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first place I met Don AKA: OFOF (RIP) back in 2003 while I was on my way to Speed Week.

Never have quite figured this thing out even after all these years
    [IMG]

    Almost there
    [IMG]

Even though it was way before noon we decided to head into Wendover first to check in even if our room wasn't ready.

Leon and his lovely wife Sharon were checking in at the same time. Low and behold they got the room next to George and we were kinda right up above them. BobK and Jeff are right by us as well
    [IMG]

After throwing my stuff in our room I threw my cooler and lunch stuff in Nick Galaxie. He's sure been to alot of Meet & Greets over the last couple of years.

  4. Great thread, Denise. Hey, feel free to stop by on your way home..Bob K will be giving my brother [Jangleguy] a ride to my place from B'ville at the end of Speedweek.
I can't end without mentioning Steve........I'm absolutely positive he's looking down at all the enjoyment you're getting outta Big Olds.

We then all headed out to the Salt. Nothing like cruzn topless to one of my favorite bands on the way to the end of the road
    [IMG]

You can kinda see the Bend in the Road camping area
    [IMG]

I get a shot like this year every I'm here
    [IMG]

I go to take a photo of Nick and his Dad and his Dad hands me a PINK camera! Must be on of those metro-sexual type guys I've been hearing about.:D
    [IMG]

I LOVE this shot of the two of them
    [IMG]

Two HAMB guys pulled up and asked me to take a photo for them. I feel like the resident photographer. ;)

We head out and straight to the Tech Inspection area

Tech inspection lines were not long at all. I then decided to check out some of the spectators cars

Moving down the highway at speed or sitting still, it's a nice looking truck

  16. Hi Denise,
I only know you thru the HAMB, I'm enjoying the trip!! You really should consider putting your travels togther in a travel/pictorial and selling them. You have enough for the first edition already. Maybe AAA would sell them as they make a great travelog!!
Have a safe one and Thanks.

Last I left off I was walking around the tech inspection area and ran into Bobby Green and his lovely bride on two wheels. Stopped and chatted for a bit.

We then decided it was time for a samwich at Nick's Galaxie and right after lunch Beef Stew walked up and introduced himself.

We then took a cruz thru the pits and stopped at the Old Crow encampment
    [IMG]

and ran into Scary Larry and Crazy Backyard Builder hanging out
    [IMG]

    Squirrel then rode up
    [IMG]

    This wasn't too far away
    [IMG]

    This was very cool
    [IMG]

My good buddy Steve uses his Pontiac ragtop as his tow vehicle for his roadster. How cool is that!

We then decided to head back to the motel, shower and check out the action at the Nugget. Before leaving I took a walk around our motel's parking lot
    [IMG]

I hopped in Big Olds and drove him down to the Nugget and parked. Right away this group of guys walks up and this one guy is checking over Big Olds carefully and proceeds to tell me he has a completely original '47 Olds covert back home. Turns out him and his buds are Tyrod members and very cool guys.

Walked around the parking lot of the Nugget before dinner

Ran into Bob AKA Animal Ain at dinner
