The trim rings on those wheels look HORRIBLE! Send em to me so I can destroy em for ya. [IMG]

I kinda miss the old look BO had. But this looks pretty good too. Needs to be slammed in the front, a monster rake. Can't wait to see it with the hood on!

  2. Baby gets a new pair of shoes?

    Pretty good title anyway.... [IMG]

May I suggest adding a set of flipper bar hubcaps?
Very trad and the way Big Olds sits right now, a touch of brightwork would help - imho. [IMG]

Shown here is a set of flipper bar wheelcovers from Speedway - price quite reasonable at $79.95 a set of four (14" or 15").
Especially when compared to other sites asking $95. per cover.

There is a flipper bar hubcap available and these would perhaps be a better way to go, but I didn't find any.
Nice part about the smaller ones - and they ain't too small - is you have the slightly smaller flipper that commands attention at slow speeds and you can use the beauty ring of your choice as well.

Looks good, but I think it needs hubcaps darling.

  4. Yeah guys I agree on the hubcap deal. As soon as we put the wheels on I thought the same thing.

Jay, the single bar flipper is axactly what I had in mind. I'm looking in my stuff for a set now. But I just might get her a set of new ones since they are so reasonable. But don't tell her i want it to be a surprize [IMG].

  5. Well Roadstar, I wouldn't call you transparent, but translucent comes to mind.... [IMG]

Thanks for all the kind words on Big Olds "new look". I really wasn't a fan of the grey primer at all but now with the red wheels I think it looks better and something I can live with while finishing up all the sanding. Besides, I've never had steel wheels on any of my hot rods over the last 25 years so this "look" is really a novelty for me. [IMG]

I took 10 minutes and scrubed the tires before heading out to a couple of local cruz nites.
