Hey Denise, when you're looking at color chips. Look at a '65-'66 Mustang color called "Amberglo" it's a very cool medium copper metallic with a lot of depth. I've always really liked it.

[/ QUOTE ]

That color is kinda cloudy in person.

90 posts, that'll tell how popular HAMB***ador Denise is.

Dammit hatch, this was a clean monitor too.

Denise, Why do I have the feeling that I should recognize where that pic was taken. Where was it taken? It's driving me nuts.

Lots more cool renderings. THANKS!

4t64rd, I think you nailed the shiney color that I like. At least it looks close, kind of where the highlites are... and you listened real well to what I was describing. Your wife has you trained real well. [IMG]
Are those the '57 caps with bullets that you mentioned?

Tim, next year at BTTF's I'd love to run my nasty "3" "5" "0" against your 350? [IMG] [IMG]

Steve, I can't make it to the PRI show this weekend, I'm working but do you think you could bring them at the end of Feb to the HotRod and Preformance show in Indy? Not in any big hurry for them. The top, windows, hood, and new primer all come first.

Sailor, that is a most beaitful ride. Kustomfodder.... I like it [IMG]

SmokinJoe, that copperhead metallic is awesome. I like it alot.

Safariknut, no two tone paint for me but I do like the idea of two tone copper interior.... alot [IMG]

Bugman, did the pink streetrod in the past. Don't care to relive that again [IMG]

AV8, So Sierra Gold is really a metallic copper? Sounds interesting. I'll see if Roadstar can obtain a color chart that I can peak at.

Joel, Even though I know it'd be ribbed for my pleasure, I don't perticularly care for that style bumpers for me. [IMG]

As far as the striping goes, we were just talking about this on Saturday on the way back from breakfast get together. I would LOVE to have it striped, and would be HONORED to have you do it BUT would feel awful when the time came to sand it off to get it ready for shiny paint. A rock and a hard place. [IMG]

Fab32 TY [IMG]

Rocky, not only do I remember that Olds but still have a few photos that I think you sent me. His looks AWESOME with that chop. You seen the car around lately?

Travis, I REALLY like that black and copper color combo.

SKR8PN, NO SKIRTS on my car, only in my closet! [IMG] and no, my first love was my Chevy convert but Big Olds is pulling a close second.

35pickup, our good buddy Royce's 36. Looks great. Stay tuned for a "It's a small world" post regarding that car, the onwer and Big Olds [IMG]

50Fraud, what do '55-'56 Lancers look like? I have no clue when it comes to wheel treatments. I really like the idea of a contrast rim. A little smaller tire then what I have now will bring the rear down just a touch.

Mai Ki-Ki, the third one is my favorite one too, looks great BUT no skirts, no chop, no lift off top, no bags..... other then that... looks awesome [IMG]

Your "realistic" one is just perfect. I'm printing that one right now! [IMG] [IMG]

Joe, 40StudDude is right no the money as far as location goes. It was a great site for photos. So much so that this professional photographer came up and ask permission to take a bunch of photos of Big Olds there. He owned a studio in the Carolinas. I've got his card here somewhere. He said to contact him and he'd send me a bunch taht he took. Reminds me I still have to do that. He was taking some up close ones and I made a comment about all the bugs and he said not to worry he'll photoshop them out. [IMG]

Rix2Six, I'll check out that color too. BTW: your CD is going out in the morning. I sealed the envelope with a kiss and cookie breath but I didn't use any lipstick as I don't want you to get grounded from the HAMB. [IMG]

Action Girl, yep, aren't these guys GREAT! Picking won't be too hard. I know in my head, heart and soul what I want. Money also dictates the extent of the metamorphosis. [IMG]

Thanks for all the GREAT ideas. This is the kick in the pants that I needed to get motivated. Thoughts to "paper" really helps, thanks!

12. without skirts for you Denise...
Cheers!

Denise... I never liked fender shirts and didn't much care for whitewalls BUT! Mai Ki Ki's "My fave" is the royal SHIZNIT! The chop, the chromies and the skirts with whitewalls all work to make it look slinky and ***y....
BTW, another great daark copper is on Gran Prix ponchos in 97 and newer...appears to possibly have a little pearl in it. Very rich looking....

15. Lets see now. No top, No skirts. Wait are we talking about the car or what [IMG]

Those are some great ideas to choose from. It's unreal how much different it looks with the custom flair. You are defanatly heading in the right direction in my opinion.

Here is an early Lancer spinner ('55-'56). They're not common, but they do show up on eBay from time to time. Sorry I couldn't find a picture mounted on a rim, but see the next post...

...for an early ('53-'55) Fiesta, already mounted on a '50 Olds. Both these caps expose about 3/4" of the rim, so the color the wheel is painted becomes a part of the whole look of the wheel & tire.

The next generation of Lancers and Fiestas may have been more popular, but I like the smaller scale of the knockoff ears on these earlier caps.

Ahhh, I remember it now. I pulled over and spent the night there once after leaving the Mile High Nationals and heading to Bryce Canyon and all those Southern Utah parks. Pulled over in the dark and woke up to that view. Had a cop knocking on the window with his flashlight saying "Hey, you dead or what?" [IMG]

I was in California when Rich brought this back to the top. WOW, I hadn't seen or thought about this thread in YEARS. Brings back alot of good memories and conclusions on how the HAMB community can be such a great influence.
