The size differences are shown right where they have always been. In the GM Hertitage center archives vehicle information kits . You just scroll down to the correct year and open the pfd and scroll down the page. Vehicle Information Kits | GM Heritage Archive | General Motors
I've got photos here that show the pretty easy to spot differences between 3000 series fenders and big truck fenders here . Photobucket | Gallery Along with different 3000 series fenders to be able to spot the difference.
Firewall to front axle centerline is the same on all Chevy AD conventional cab trucks,17-3/4 inches. Dosen't matter if it is a 3100 shortbox or school bus chassis that distance is the same.
Across the outside of the front fenders 3000 series trucks measurr 72-5/8 while 4000 and larger conventional cab trucks measure 74-7/8. I've never measured but the distance from the flat part of the firewall to the front center of the grill is about 1-1/2 inches longer on 4000 and up. Screenshot (1574).png

I hear some people have to learn the hard way. I bought a set of inner fenders from the 3000 series and used them on the 4000 series outer fenders. Don’t look too close at the welds they’re just tacked and I’m a wood butcher by trade.

I'm restoring my chevy 52 3100, here in Argentina is not really easy to find the parts. The hood of the chevy 3600 have the same size of the 3100?

  4. Sebatoro, I'm not 100% certain, but I have heard that only the cabs were the same - all the sheet metal forward was different.

If and AD fender is sitting out by it's self look at the line of bolts that hold the innerfender on and bolt it to the cowl. 3000 series truck fenders will have the row of bolts in a continuous line around the edge of the fender. 4000 and up will have the line stepped where the fender meets the cowl .
