I have been in need of a big ole truck for a while now.Besides MILES M i don't know any other examples of car hauler or big 60's and prior trucks as work trucks .I have found a few doing google searches , but most are restored stockers . ANYBODY here ,have or has built one ?? So far, i have found 3 and trying to work out the deal s ,but none are in my yard YET .I did find a 1948, looks like a f-7 type .Was thinking a rollback, off a wrecked tow could make the truck a double use vehicle .Carry a car/truck and bring stuff /parts home in the bed . thanks!! Maybe i will just buy a trailer, hahahaaa that would be cheaper .
aint distance a *****?Im trying to sell this right now, perfect for what you want.all restored and ready to go.
LOW> i do know what cha mean about the distance thing ! *****in big truck though ..Curious , what are you asking for it ? Maybe i am just reading too many CarToons and Kr*** & bernie , but i do need a big beast to cut down on the number of trips i am making .THANKS FOR THE PIC !
Im asking $7000 aus. which is about 4 u.s.It now has a brand new steel and timber tray, new tyres etc...its a hoot to drive- I just wish i could find a buyer...not one looker in six weeks!Theyre quite rare over here, smaller ones(pick ups)are even rarer, would really like one of them. this one is a two ton by the way.
Well don't THAT just ****!!! We just s****ped out 3! of that exact same truck over the summer. Two of em had PTO dump beds and one was a flatdeck. Sold most of the good cab peices but not All. What ya need to do Scoots is find yerself a BigTruck trader. Same as photoTrader but around here we got em for Muscle/Cl***ic, BigTruck/Truck, Motorcycle/ATV's etc... You should be able to find one in the midwest somewhere for $1,000 up and be able to drive it home. Most people convert them over onto the damn Chevy 1-ton ch***is but there's Really no need for that if ya don't mind the bumpy ole ride. I think enjenjo gave something like $750 for his low mileage 53 Chevy Fire Dept water truck that he's intending to put on a motorhome ch***is. I've got a 47 MACK EQU-1D cabover wrecker with leveling stanchions and swing boom that I'd sure love to get onto the roads again some day, or sell to someone who would sooner...
I drive a 54 F350 1 ton on a regular basis. Factory 9' bed plus 2 piston dump lift. Originally a landscapers truck. Now has a warmed up 292 Y block and there aint nothing it wont haul or tow. Ive had 2 tons in the bed AND a F250 on the trailer behind it; that was a pleasant 90 mile ride. Nothing like a decent overload to smooth out the bumps
Just got home to a message from a guy who wants to get rid of 2 f-350s 1954s ..I think he even used the words almost free , wow !
Grab them! That engine bay & frame will even lose a 460/C6 combo. The stock ****er rear is either a 5.14 or 6.17, ID plate is inside the glovebox door. An 80's Dana 60 is almost a bolt in and you get a wide selection of gears. A plus is losing the 17" widow maker wheels. Use early 60's front goodies to switch to 8 lug. There are 5 engines and 3 truck trannies in the bed, barely compresses the springs.
286merc that ole truck also hits the mark perfectly!! I guess we have a surplus on big vintage trucks .This morning another guy called selling a coe gmc , guess my day is planned now .Off ta look . thanks again for your posts .
Well ,sometimes you get what you ask for in spades ! I may just get all three that i have found. One is a 54 f-350 stakebed that need the alt hooked up and fix the brake lines ,along w/1 piece of gl*** -600.00$- Two others i may also get really cheap .I may have to p*** one on to someone else that needs a big vintage work truck .I do not need a fleet of them .Guess its cheaper to buy in bulk haaaahaa.thanks for the info..
Thats one big roadster alright!! Well i tried to get one all week but no luck yet for a big old truck , guess i have to wait ,or just buy a trailer for my haulin needs .
