The boss has his big wheel car for sale if any one is intrested. Rex[/QUOTE] How much just for the wheels?
WOW!!! A departure from "old school" that still has the classic vibe. Nice to see something fresh. BTW, I see that Pasadena still has that wet blanket he carries around trying to kill entheusiasm for anything that doesn't fit his criteria. Frank
you're kidding right....that roadster is awesome...and those wheels are iconic..as are other parts on that car....very well built guys...
The Boss has his own 32 big wheel roadster but customers cars take priority, and this one is almost finished and is for sale if any one is interested. I figured i could post the bare metal pictures here. Same style of car as the other one enough differences that that the two are not twins. the lower edge of the grill is finished out with an 1/8" bead to give the lower front rdge of the car a finished look and works great with the bobbed frame. www.realhotrods.com Rex Rogers Custom Auto Loveland Colorado Vintage 32 dash panel from the 50's steering needs to be finished yet. A 28 Chevy fuel tank and a hand fab battery box to match Head lights and front shocks and then the car is ready for paint. Rex
Rex, I had this idea about 5 years ago, and I still don't have an open wheeled car to try this on, so I thought I'd pass it along for your build. I was thinking of using 35 or 36 headlights, or BLC's. You can fab up the brackets, or use F-1 shock mounts with a curved plate welded off the middle to mount to the bottom of the headlight. With the sealed beam bulb out, you bolt the shock in place, pop in the bulb and everthing is hidden. Puts the lights down lower, and hides/protects the upper shock. The 32 looks like an excelent candidate for this combination. Bob
I need to check and see what the exact color is for the finished big wheel car, we have painted two roadsters that color and one three window, it is a nice compliment to the 32. I would love t o be able to get the chance to build a coupe version of the big wheel car something with a nice hard wedge chop. Here is the big wheel frame on a coupe body the best looking car we have yet to build. the body was in there and the frame so we did a test fit, we just need customer who wants one and of course find another set of wheels. www.realhotrods.com Rex Rogers
I love the gas tank style reveal on the roll pan of the 1st car shown. Great work through out. Thanks for sharing. Neal
Awesome! I hope the above statement is an inside joke or something. God forbid we have a 32 roadster that doesn't look like everyone elses. ha ha ha
