This has got to be the biggest, longest woody I've ever seen. Even if your not into wood, check out this wagon. How many does it seat? Nice resto too! Check out the video:http://maderatribuneredline.com/local-film-woodie-wagon-restored/
Cool car and all, but I found the music in the video distracting. All I could think about were two Illinois nazis flying through the air in an orange Pinto wagon........ Sir......I've always loved you....
I had to think about it for a few minutes before I clicked on it. I figured it was some smart ass. I guess it got the best of me though. I love wagons. That is a "Big Woody"
I can only imagine the cost to redo that wood. When a normal woodie runs $25k - 40k to restore the wood this monster had to have a serious bill.
Not only is that a lot of wood but 4500 hours! Just the labor at a rate of $50 per hour is $225,000. I could buy about 6 or 7 32 3 windows for the total price. Mabe more. Great hobby this car thing!
I built the exhaust system for it. The guy restoring it brought in what was left of the system for patterns as the cat was not running and to hard to transport. If im not mistaking I believe he said he had two of them one was be used for parts. Also I think they were used in Yosomite for the upperclass to tour back in the day>
Must have been built for a hotel or lodge originally. Awesome car and a wonderful labor of love and I am glad not to be the owner of such a thing.
My wife will be very disappointed! I promised her that, when I was done with the Lincoln, I would have the biggest woodie she's ever seen. Bummer
Yeah, I've been workin' on my own little '32 Woody for about three years now, and I thought that's a big project. How about all the fasteners on that thing? How many gallons of varnish? Not to mention all the "furnishings" in each seating area!
