I checked on the HAMB tech board for this particular discussion, since it seems like something that would have been discussed before. I didn't see it there, so I'm asking here. Many of you have figured this out in the past I'm sure. I've got a 41 Ford Pickup, 15" rims, stock suspension. Over time it will get lowered, probably just by 2" front and rear. I would like to run bigs and littles, wide whites, for just the right stance and maybe a little better ratio at the rear. Looking for both Radial and Bias dimesions. Changing the rim diameter is an option. Pics of the resulting look would be cool. Spent a lot of time at Paso checking out everyones tires. Needless to say I got some weird looks. Thanks ahead of time. Mike
Mike, I run 5.60x15 front, L78x15 on the rear of the 27T. 165R15 front, 235/75/15 on the Deuce. Did you read my messages? Mike
Yep, I read your other messages. Thanks! I'm on the hunt for an SROD 77-81******* now. 235 in the rear eh? With a tire that tall, do you experience any bounce, or are the sidewalls thick enough to prevent that?
A few things to think about- how much room do you have? Are you going to have to tub it for room? How low is it going to be? will they be tucked under the fenders? Do you have the power to turn them? Meaning, are they for looks, or do you need the traction?

[ QUOTE ] 165R15 front, 235/75/15 [/ QUOTE ] 235 75 R15 is a good series for the rear in radials if you don't wanna go that thin up front you have a lot of choices- i wouldn't go over 195 or 205....and stick with 70 series up front in the wider numbers. i'm running 205 70 15 up front and 225 75 15 on the rear of the F-1 now but i'm gonna switch the rears to 235 after i replace the springs.
On my 41 pickup, I run 165R-15 on the front (15X5 rims), and P285/70R-15 on the back (15X8 rims). Those back tires are a little fat for a flatmotor, if I had one of those, I would probably go with the P235/75R-15. Other sizes to consider for the rear, if you haven't bought the wheels yet, are P245/75R16 tires on 16X8 wheels, or 235/75-16 on 16X7 rims. I run some 245s on my roadster, and they work well. They are not quite as wide as the 285/70-15, but are about the same height.
I have 590-15's on 5" rims in front, and 820-15 on 6" rims in the rear of my 28 sedan. They are BFGoodrich Silvertown blackwalls. Here is a pic -Joe

The motor is a 302 Ford with a 4-71. The rearend is 9 3/8" Ford with 3.50 Traction-Loc. 3speed+ overdrive cast iron trans with 3.25 low and 30% overdrive. Gets 15 mpg and blows the tires off at will.
