Hmmmmmm.....I'm just not getting this whole "nothing to do" complaint..... If you made 2 or 3 rounds and looked at everything, you must have been jogging. Because like someone mentioned before , if you spent one minute looking at each of the 650 cars, it would have taken almost 11 hours. I know I didn't see everything, but jogging shorts aren't really my style.
all of which was on the flyer and website. the cost, location and timeline. it's your own fault if you did nothing to prepare for this show except get up and drive there. quit your crying.
Like I said, I love cool cars and all, but I just can't spend THAT much time doing nothing but looking at them. I couldn't have spent a minute looking at every single car. After the first hour or two you get to where you just take note of the neat cars, and take a minute to drool over the ones that really catch your eye. I'm sorry, I don't count 11 hours worth of cars to look at as "a lot to do". Variety is nice and my attention span just isn't big enough for that. As for my comment about it being in George, I understand it takes out the aspect of having stuff in town to do, but the venue is so m***ive and so beautiful, you could have so much going on that you'd always have something to do. I've gone to music festivals there a few years and it's always been a blast and I could just see it being an awesome place for a big multiple day car show. Maybe not billetproof itself, but just something like it.
Too all those *****en and a moanin'....be happy that you HAD a cruz to do after hours, not all the other BilletProof have that. And for those that might have actually had to walk around the corner from where their car was parked to hear the band, be happy that you at least had a band there who's music you enjoy hearing. LOTS of other car events have too much 50's and do wop music and not enough of the good stuff. and for those whos shade was in a barn, be thankful that you had a barn to take cover under, lots of other events don't have a lick of shade unless you bring your own canopy. To those that are complaining about not enough to do while at the event...did you introduce yourself to people you did not know therefore doing some socializing and meeting other like minded folks? or did you just walk around with your hands in your pockets then go sit in your chair behind your car looking bored? To those that are *****en about the cost...get real, been to any other events or out to dinner lately?? Welcome to 2009 buds. Man, some of you guys are real nancy boys
A closed off cruise might not be possible in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comCentralia</ST1</st1:City> then how about Chehalis? I understand about the highway running through downtown. Some of Chehalis downtown is not on the highway. That might be an option. Shutting down a few streets for the car show is possible and can be done for the local parade. Why not for a big show like this? Look at the Unique Tin show in Longview/Kelso. They shut down a huge section between the two towns for the evening's festivities. By mid-day they hand out a limited number of cruise tickets for participants and come 6 or 7 they have at it. I used to make the 2.5 hour trip down (lived further north at the time) just because of the cruise. It did get shut down for a few years because of the same problems, crashers and kids, but it was up and running last year. <O</O<O They also had a cool cl***ic Prom on the fairgrounds on Saturday night after the cruise with a caged in beer garden. <O</OI know the cost to the town was high because I saw a good amount of cops but I'm sure the city comes out ahead. Heck, it keeps people in town another night, hotels, campgrounds, another meal, another breakfast.<O <O Organizing takes a lot and might sound easy to those who havent tried a larger event, but if so many want more to do at the show you should to sponsor it yourself and take the details to Choptop for approval. Im sure he could use the help! These fairgrounds are not short on space!<O <O p.s. a swap area might be cool! Maybe Sunday morning or something.
Awesome point!!! I wish we could have hung out more. Oh well, the show down here is barely more than a month away. We shall party our brains out!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was really discouraged with billetproof. It was a long distence to travel, it was WAY too much to enter, the show was spread out too much, and there wasnt much to do, not to mention that they kicked everyone out at 4:30. I dont think ill be back next year __________________ Marty's Speed and Salvage Not too shabby for a punk 18year old kid, huh? Nash Hot Rod Build Dyna...TOO MUCH?! WTF?! Did you bring a car? The cruising on Friday and Saturday nights were MORE than worth the $30 I spent to register! Goodguys (laugh...) railroads you to spend $75 to $85 for their show, and Billetproof is better! I hate to say this, but don't go next year...sheesh... Best show of the year, especially since Hotrodarama is re-tooling...I'll GLADLY spend my money to be back next year!
Here's the deal...no matter how great you plan it, no matter how much time and effort you put into it, someone will ALWAYS ***** about it. I think the show was perfect, end of story. You absolutely can't please eveyone! To the jackholes doing the **** they were doing, KNOCK IT OFF! If you ruin this for everyone else, you're going to have an aweful lot of PISSED OFF hotrodders gunning for you! Burn outs? Really? Hell, I can get my 3 hp mini-bike to do a burn out! Your car can blow the tires off...woo-hoo...
I don't think the majority of the guys doing the burnouts are on here Scott....haha. Ya know, I wanted to make a lap or two with ya in yer PU.....it sure looked good! Your dad looked to be having a blast as well.....
Ya you got to watch those Spokomton guys, wearing gorilla suits around and what not. I heard one of them even jumped into the hotel pool naked That is weird...
well, i did walk by the debate team in highschool once.... damn osmosis putting intelligent thoughts in my head....but i think partying with you in Spocan't will fix that.....
The muscle cars and ricers that were out in town are the same local punks that are out every weekend. They tend to cause lots of trouble where they gather and are regularly asked to leave the area when the cops show up. Most of them are daddy bank funded projects that don't have any real mods done except to look horrible and sound like a lawnmower. I hope that their stupidity didn't give the Billetproof cruise through town a bad name, and I hope things work out to do it all again next year. This town used to have a lot more going on downtown on Friday and Saturday nights until the city adopted the "no cruising" ordinance and it's definately nice to see something like this allowed to happen even if it is just once a year. I'm already looking forward to next year's show.
Heres my take on the show (spectator only)...(after driving more than 20 hours to get there!) Despite having gone both days I didn't get a chance to see all the cars. There were just to many great people and details on these cars to take in. Oh and the fees to get in as a non participant were UnReAl! 15$ for a 2 day p***?? I pay more than that to take my wife out on a high cl*** dinner for two to McDonalds. If you couldn't find enough to do at the show you weren't looking. Only one regret here...NOT TAKING THE CAR! Next year sign me up! Thanks to Chop for a great show! More in our future!
This was my first billetproof and the first trip in my car after gettin it on the road again and we had a kick *** time! Price to get in? Cheeep take the ole lady to dinner an a movie , this was a way better deal........ The cruise saturday was awsome!
The show kicked ***, the cruise kicked ***, the camping kicked ***. (Those Canadians are wild)! this was my first time to a large car show of this caliber, and I had a great time just walkin around talkin to the people. I think I spent a good 45 minutes just talkin to the dude with the 41 willy's american. I didn't even get to see all of the cars. I want to thank choptop, the members of the city council, the participants, and all the rest of the folks that helped make this event such a blast. If I am around next year, I will definately be there. Awesome show!!!!!!!
Wow, way to be an absoulute *****. Its just an opinion on a ******* show people. Like i said, i got better shows to go to, so im not gonna be back next year. End of story. I said what i wanted, and i dont appreciate all the smart*** comments to me or my club members just because we didnt have as good as time as most. Glad you all thought it was the greatest thing since white bread, i myself didn't think it was all that it was hyped up to be. Marty.
okay let's change the subject...anyone got a picture of the crazy guy with a peg leg that attacked Josh and a few others?
He didn't attack us but yelled at the bartender where we had lunch on Friday. Then played some air harmonica!
Yeah, I know Scott! I thought it'd be fun, car "hopping"......see the cruisin' from different "perspectives".......
I hope no one ruins your event, I also hate when idiots show up and ruin it for everyone, i have to apologize for the idiots in the japanese cars being *****s, being part of that scene also, we run into harra*****t because of people like that, I hang out with guys with old japanese cars and we don't tolerate behavior like that, if people want to race and do burnouts, they can go to the dragstrip, not on the street. it gives a bad image to the entire car hobby. I may come up one of these days, would love to see an event like this
WELLLLL this is my take.. We had a perfect time, met alot of cool people, seen awesome cars, the wife had some striping on her car...(Thanks Sinister) 35 bucks is a good deal for this show .You bet I'll be back
