Pre registereds will always be lower than total count, so that shouldn't keep anyone from showing up.
I'm curious also....and since I'm not "pre".....want to know that I'll be able to pass thru the gate.....Oh well, I'll bring my wire cutters and "sneak in thru the back fence" if they won't let me in the front...hahaha

the question isnt being ignored... between flying to texas, getting all the stuff ready for the show and working at the fairgrounds since about 9am today (its now 8pm) Texas time... I just havent had time to answer all my email or read everthing on the HAMB... sorry for the delay, no harm intended.

We've got about 100 pre-registrations.

There is plenty of room at the fairgrounds. No need for wire cutters.

How many will show up? Who knows. each state has its own way of doing things... from what I'm told Texans dont pre-register at all. in Florida I get about 50% pre-reg (300+ for a 650 car show). In Michigan i get about 10% pre-registration.

What will Texans do? We'll find out in the morning

My van blew a water pump so I may fly down. I'm confused about CR205 or is it CR201 and hwy 290? Where is it re. airport?

the best way from AUS....


Out of the airport take a right towards Bastrop

in 3 miles or so, take the toll road north (waco)

12 to 15 miles exit 290 east

head east through Elgin, then Page (about 35 miles I'm guessing), then the fairground is on your right BEFORE Giddings. If you hit Giddings propper, you've gone to far, turn around...

If you're coming from Austin...look to your right just before you get into Giddings down 290.
If you're flying into the county airport, you can't miss it. I think they're both on 201 so you should fly right over the show.

 

Thanks but I'll be coming into Gidding's airport. It looks like it's almost where the venue should be. To add to the confusion "Firemans' Park" comes up as listed in Bastrop.

Yep the airport is about 1/4-1/2 mile south of the venue on the SAME road. Go out to the CR that the airport road T's into, turn right (north) and you'll be there in no time. You could basically walk from there to the fairgrounds.

 

Ha, didn't even know Giddings had an airport.

There are little airports all over America, especially in Texas due to WWII training. When folks far away find out I'm from Texas they often ask if I have a horse. I throw them that old line from the movie "Giant" when Rock Hudson said something like "Hell no, ya gotta have a plane if ya wanna get around in Texas!"
