We have worked the gate for the last 5 years and yea, some get by that shouldn't....a lot of people think we are standing out there working on our tan and don't even slow down. I guess some are sure we are going to turn them back ...which we did do to at least a dozen cars for various reasons. I wasn't too worried if a few got in...hell , it gives people a reason to bitch!
This was also the first year I wasn't hungover at the gate ...which was good as we were trying to get over 1000 cars off the street and into the grounds most of which happened in the first 2 hours!!
Fortunately I got to walk through the show before I did my afternoon shift at the spectator gate and I was stunned with the cars and quality...we picked best hot rod this year and I have to say it was way harder than best custom (which we usually did in the past and is not meant to sound like I'm talking shit about the strangers and their pick!) as there were tons of great hot rods and a big handful of really great customs. I'd show a pic or two,but never got any...didn't even bring a camera!
The only problem with the crowd I heard about was some idiots doing grass donuts after the show (happens every year but is the type of stuff that will get us kicked out of Antioch) and a couple of burnouts on the pavement after the show.....anybody know the dude in the grey primer late 50's mopar station wagon? We weren't impressed.
Thank you to everyone that helps make out job easier (SWANX) we aren't a huge club and it takes all we have to help put on this show! Also big thanks to Eric (Hot Rods by Lew in Vallejo) and Rick (Rick's place custom framing and gallery in Danville) for pitching in and helping us out...we couldn't have done it without the extra bodies!

    from Sacto.,Ca.

just got back home to Hawaii. That was my first Billetproof & what an awesome kickback show. The 64 Galaxie ran great from Sacto to the show after sitting for 5 years so that was nice. Looking forward to many more future Billetproofs instead of just coming back
for Paso (now Santa Maria). Thanx again & keep up the good work.

    Chotop, great job!
The show was excellent, had a great time even thought I didn't get to see as much of the show as I wanted to and didn't have time to make it to the HAMB meet and greet because I was working my booth. Thanks to every body that came by my booth to say hi and /or buy a shirt or something else. I can't wait till next year.

I've only missed two Billet Proof's and the only two things that I would suggest changing next year are: (1)Pull that thing out of your ear it's Billet Proof not a Trekie convention. (2) Try to make it a two day event, so many cars and things going on you just can't get in one day. Scott

hehehehee... that thing in my ear is what Kirk uses to tell me what to say. :D

two days... hmmm.. I'm tossing around some ideas for that, perhaps a 1.5 day event with a band and a movie at the drive in on Sat. night and breakfast back at the fairgrounds on Sunday.

    we'll see.
