So what did everyone think of the show? They had a good turnout, it was at least 150 cars at last count.A few left early but most stayed. The weather was great. Two of the bands were no shows, but the band that did show up was good. There were some cool cars there including the Beach Boys "Little Deuce Coupe".There were a lot of HAMB'ers there. It was fun , can't wait till next year.
Way cool show! Can't even REMEMBER how many HAMBers I ran into...many for the first time! Great to finally meet some of ya in person and hang with ya for a few!! Safariknut was busy all day laying his talented brushwork on everything from quarter panels and dashboards, to coolers, mailboxes....and one groovy Vega air cleaner!! Ray, you have no IDEA how happy I am with the lid!!! Thanks a BILLION!! (I took Safariknut's digital camera and roamed the grounds shooting an overview of the cars that showed up...a little taste of all styles!) Denise got a standing ovation for pulling Big Olds onto the burnout pad and smokin' Roadstar's tires mercilessly!!! I think Kustombuilder got a few good action shots of the smoke show!!! Got to see Flathead Pete's black & blue "Kroozin' Bruise" in person...lotsa character for sure! Jdubya was lookin' burnt red, but having a good time making the rounds...cool to see his ride for the first time as well...right down to the Michigan Upholstery!! Got to rap with Donzie, Fuel Pump, Michigan Rick, Kritz, Uncle Aud, Levis Classic, and the folks from last night's party...Hot Rod To Hell, DirtyT, Roadstar, Denise, and at least a dozen others! Fab32 ran away every time I got close...wish I woulda had the chance to chew the fat with him a while! Oh jeeez...the CARS...I'll just let someone post some pics, cuz I can't list all the cool***** there! More kick-ass "HAMB-Worthy" rides than I've ever seen in one place! The show was just incredible!! Some interesting oddities, too...a four wheel drive Cutlass in the burnout contest and a curious kind funky...ummm...well, I dunno...big sorta yellow car with Nascar tires or sumthin'...did his burnout in reverse...an old 60s Buick maybe? Was short on cabbage, but I did pick up a "Fuck Trailer Queens" sticker that has already been installed on the old Fleetline...to go with the "too cool for YOUR car" as one nameless HAMBer put it air cleaner!!! Great burgers, too...worth the long wait in line for them! The gals cookin' 'em up in this heat over an open flame with plastic food handling gloves on deserve a BIG round of "Thank Yous" from all who partook of their efforts! I hauled my brother-in-law (the newly registered HAMBer!) there along with my 11 year old nephew, Eric...we rode in a caravan from Denise's house...me holding the Mighty Metro to the floor to try and keep up with a bad**** mint green tunnel rammed four speed 55 Chevy on the open stretches!! Great fun!! Fantastic day...hope it goes again next year!!

Well I had a great time this weekend... Fast Elvis, good to meet you..I'm drinking your beer right now and ...umm..DAMN! The show was great...Beautiful cars beautiful girls...gotta love it
Mark, I had a GREAT time with you and the lads. You and your friends are a group of some of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life, and trust me, I've met alot. It must be something in the London water, or maybe it's that Canadian beer. You guys are a pleasure to be in the same company with, and represent the Canadian Rodder proudly. Hot rodding has no boarders.
D, I (as always) had a ton of fun at your party. The drive was quiet a bit easier this year with the "GMB" '52 F-3....I am proud to represent! Bon fire was kickin till the wee hours....MAgic cooler never fails!! It was even full when I got home tonight!!(thanks Fast!) What a great weekend. THanks for reuniting me with my glass Rudy. I'm spending time with it right now...gotta lot of cacthing up to do
I just got home. What a day. I was totally blown away to get a award at the show. They were all hand built by Roger for the PoorBoys cc and couldn't be any cooler. It was a two day deal for some of us starting with the kick off party at Denise's house Saturday, and then caravaning out to the show and spending a PERFECT day with 150 way cool cars. Yes the guys from Canada are the nicest group of guys you could ever want to meet. FastElvis had some great jokes and stories to tell around the fire last night and we must have killed about 5 kegs of that good Canadian beer Shows like this are a blessing in our area, thanks Kirk. Oh and as I type this HAmmerHAnk the winner of the Burnout contest is in my garage with Race putting a new (well used actually) 9 inch center section in his coupe. And they will be putting some new tires on it inthe morning for the trip Back to Mid Ohio Good thing he won eh Well time to catch up on The HAMB I have missed in the last two days and check out all the pics that will surly get posted of this awesome first time event that will surely grow in the future.
Finally saw him around 2:30 and he said he just got there. I offered him one of the 40's of the bootleg Canadian beers Fastelvis give me but he had a look of horror on his face. Says it all!
man those aint no 40's!!! there like 64's 1.8 litre. damn metric system gets you drunk i tell ya haha its was preety mucha beers around the world night for me and i was feeling it today. hey thanks for the sweet**** mirrors as soon as i got home i ran to the chevy to see how they will look with the chop and they will be perfect. there exactly what i had in mind!! thanks a million i owe u one for sure! so when we doing it all again??? thanks for the great times and loads of fun even though i didnt have my car done in time im still glad i was able to get out and see every one. Bryan
[ QUOTE ] By the way what happened to DirtyT at denises party? He looked a little green this afternoon! [/ QUOTE ] Ha Ha Ha...Dirty drank at least one of every kind of beer available...every time I saw him, he had a different bottle, can or cup of beer in his hand...the damn kid was puttin' ME ta shame!!! (But it was just garden variety Canadian beer that I tossed on his girlfriend! )
Been home for a few hours now and catching up on the HAMB. What a fantastic day we had at Billetproof. I can't help but think this show is going to grow big time after the word gets out. Thanks to everyone who helped put it on, YOU DONE GOOD!!! Met some HAMBers that I hadn't had the pleasure before and that's always good, as well as seeing what I now consider OLD friends from the HAMB. I guess I dropped the ball with one of my favorite HAMB people this weekend. I didn't get down for her party Saturday and after being one of the instigators of her not canceling her annual party and just scaling it back so it wouldn't be so expensive I should have been there to show my appreciation. I'm sorry Denise, I'll try to do better in the future. Anyway, I'm glad you still talked to me and let me explain my absence. I'll know you've forgiven me if I get another box of cookies in the mail. Frank
Well, since this post seems to be about the pre-show party, howsabout some pics??? Here's the HAMB crew before the Canucks rolled in (they took their sweet-ass time with Dirty T's beer! )
Here are a few pics of FAST ELVIS' "nothing special, buncha old parts" 55. This thing looks THIS good, He drove it here from Canada, and it runs mid 12's! (although with the conversion rate that's like 17's american, right Mark??? )
