I've been there. Picked up a frame for another Hamber.

Quality wasn't bad, but if I hadn't been standing there I don't think it would have ever been finished. He works at his own pace and it's much slower than the rest of the world in my opinion.

He told me stories of some of the "greats" that apprenticed in his shop. They are now huge names in the industry and he's still in the same place.
    You tell me?

I have a friend who just ordered a frame from him at the nats in louisville, I hope everything goes ok, but he has tried to contact him several times this week with no luck at all, let you know what happens, A couple of friends know him well, does good work just not very fast about it.

I bought a '32 2dr from him quite a few years ago. He had it advertised in Hemmings. The deal went down OK . I got the car (as advertised) and he got the money.
He had one to the lowest '32 roadsters with fenders I've ever seen. He had just painted it and it already had blisters in the paint on the top of the front fenders from rubbing on the tires. Said he wasn't going to raise it, just keep repainting it. I did get the impression that the shop was kinda laid back as far as getting work out.

He seems like a nice guy. He had his dark red, full fendered, 32 roadster at Louisville this year. He built it in the 70's, and has been driving it ever since. I see it all over! It still has the 70's paint job...tons of patina! He has been in the hot rod business for 35 years, he must be doing something right!:)

But I have never done business with him.
