Anytime you pay upfront you are automaticaly put on the back burner,hell he got the money,whats the hurry,I don"t deal with anybody wanting money up front.
I guess you first should have asked when he could start on it. Then asked when it would be done. Yes he does good work but plan to wait and wait.
Nothing ever changes. Had him do a '32 chassis about 30 years ago-wonderful job-quick and relatively inexpensive. Took another job to him within a year and didn't get it back for about two years-not right, not cheap. Whatever he's done to put so many hard miles on his person started way back then.
There are craftsmen and there are businessmen, and seldom do the two intertwine. SERVICE - PRICE - QUALITY (pick any two)
The guy built a 32 frame for me in 1980 sound's like good old Bill hasen't changed at all.Shop was a mess then and i guess still is. He did build a desent frame for me eventually.It took forever to get the frame built. Only after i said i wanted my money back did a get the frame.....PINCHER
No wander china is doing so well, They could build it, ship it get here in less than a month. For half the cost and gullible americans would buy them.
