Folks Of Interest Billy F. Gibbons - ZZ TOP

Never met Billy, but met and talked to the drummer at a World of Wheels in Dallas with the Eliminator

 

I know a local Gearhead legend that tweaked on his cars for him for many years. Says hes a great guy a really just loves hot rodding and the people that surround it......(ive also crawled around on the eliminator a bit,not working on it just wanted to see every detail of it)

 

I look at it this way. actors ,rockers it's there job . when their not working let them have some peace. I cant stand all that Popparazzi shit.

 

Billy showed up at Bonneville in 2010 and got some pic's by my '32.

 

I met him at the Nats in Louisville a few years ago. His motor coach was in my hotel parking lot and I was looking at the cars when he and another guy walked out of the coach and Billy spoke to me and we shook hands. He pulled his camera out of his pocket and ask me if I could take a couple of picture of the other guy and him beside a neat old school truck (which I think Billy just bought from the guy) He thanked me and that was it but he was a very nice soft spoken guy...If only would have thought to get a picture with him myself, my friends would believe me.. At least Billy, the other guy and myself knows it happened. Maybe if he reads this I can get that proof I need..I didn't even think to show him my ZZtop keychain with the key to my coupe that was in my pocket..crap

 

I met him at the GNRS a couple of years ago in the NHRA museum. He was very cordial and even let us get a picture with him in front of the eliminator coupe.

 

I know him and pinstriped four guitars for him. Great guy very quiet. Still exchange Christmas ans birthday wishes every year.

A guy I sometimes play music with got to know Billy quite well, so well the good Reverend presided over their wedding. And apparently stayed the night. Now there's a pic of Billy you won't see everyday.

My 8 year old son and I saw them play last summer. Great show. Those guys sound perfect.
