Hey guys, We made it, without loss of life of any of our family, although lost neigboors. Most of my friends lost their homes. Mine still stands and I thank GOD for it. The water came up 32 feet from the bayou behind my house. I had 7 feed of water in mine, and will likely be out of the hotrod hobby for some time since my cars were covered with sal****er and mud, but no matter, I'm so grateful we made it. The bottom floor which was sort of a ba*****t, was my shop. All the windows and doors were blown out, my roadster was stripped to the frame by the pounding of the waves. I found most of the major pieces. The 41 chevy truck I was doing for a friend is likely junk. fresh built 350, stuck...it had all the power dohickies on it, and vintage air all ruined, it was going to paint this week. My 327 for the roadster was on an engine stand, the surge pushed it to the far end of the shop, i have it turning now, but it will have to be re rebuilt. My vertical compressor was in my neighboors back yard, along with parts of my riding mower. Tools all buried in mud, my mig, and plasma cutter..junk...everything is covered with about 1 inch of fine silt and mud mixed with gear oil from my upsidedown 4 wheeler and mower. My outside a/c units were flipped upsidedown and torn away. A big mess for sure, but I have something to come home too. thousands do not. Words can't describe what we've seen. Im in St Louis now and heading back today. We s****ed enough gas to leave for a while. the heat was killer with no power or water. I hope its a little better when we get there tonight....

Wow. There are lots of LA and MS residents that have come here to TX to relocate, let me know if you or anyone you know is needing anything here in the DFW area. I'm sure I can arrange a job or help find a place to stay.

    Take care,
    Danny

I have an extra room for as long as anyone may need it. I know San Antonio isn't all that close to Biloxi but the offer stands if you need!

Let me know if there is anything I can do.

What do you need? Maybe a load of lumber? Some shingles, plywood, 2 bys? Home Depot/Lowes gift card?

Glad you and your family are ok.

We are all serious here about helping out. Please make a list of what you need and we'll try to fill it. There are a lot of us that want to help above just donating money to the RedCross and helping a fellow HAMBer would make our day so give us a list !!!!!!!

Hey, I'm not that far away, if I could lend a hand with the cleanup just let me know. I've got a 4wd tractor with a loader that I can bring if needed, chainsaw, etc.. If you need anywhere to store cars, parts, or anything I can help with that as well....

I am glad yall are O.K. . We love that area as we all come down for C.T.C. IN October.I know pictures don't show much but I was shocked at the damage. We are planning a Church mission trip as soon as possible and will be there to help. :D

  24. Glad you are OK, hurricanes are indiscriminant in what they destroy.

I don't know what I can do, but once you get back to the point when you can think about cars again, maybe we can organize and get your shop back in order with some donations, money or otherwise.

OK,necessities. Power is only a genset away, but your gonna have to get outside air units replaced and charged to get any A/C relief. Water is
usually the first utility to come back, but you could still be weeks away.
I'm thinkin motorhome is the only quick fix for the short term. Self-contained is the name of the game. I have a Ben Franklin $ waiting for ya. Just let me
know how to get it to you.

FEMA's hauling tag RV's up your way as fast as they can find duallies to
drag em. But that only works if you have power and running water. They
were giving out generators down here last year so you might check with
    them on that.

Best of luck, and anything you need,POST IT!

Floods are bad enough without the hurricane element. Best wishes for the clean-up and rebuilding your lives..
