Okay, I got a "new" truck. It's pretty decent, someone dumped a few catalogs on it- 350, 350turbo, Lokar, Painless, Flaming River, Heidt Mustang II front end, AC, blah, blah, blah.
    Always a California/AZ truck...But it's just not the look I want.

Here's where you come in. What do I do with it?

    Satin black?
    Pinstripes?
    The original seafoam green?
Keep the eggplant paint and add some sparkle silver scallops?

    Steelie wheels?
    Chrome smoothies?
    Torq-Thrust?

    WWW tires?
    Skinny whites?

    Whaddya think?

So far, It's been un-billeted, I got rid of the turbo mufflers for a sweet set of smithy's, and found the famous guy in Phoenix to grind the white letter Goodyear Eagles into the wide whites shown here. I painted the Hobart meat slicer wheels satin black and added the bullets and trim rings until I decide what I'm doing.

Lose the badges and the cute little step plate. Some ansens or torq-thrusts might clean it up. Nice looking truck.

Lakes pipes would make it look lower without actually lowering it. Or a set of dump tubes under the front fenders would give it some at***ude. Mount a dragster/lakester push board on the front bumper. Otherwise , just drive the snot out of it and let the sun give it some natural "patina". No skulls, no rats and no barbed wire, please. Cool truck.

Make sure the gas gauge never reads below half full and drive the snot out of it. Oh yea, Definitly loose the step plates.

It looks great like that. Maybe lower it some and ditch the step plates but other than that it looks good.

This is great stuff- please keep it coming.
I agree on the tint but it's not only pretty much needed here, it's actually smoke tinted gl***, not window film.
I didn't think the step plates would take such a beating!
And, yes, I"m driving the snot out of it--every day-- I've put 2000 miles on it in the last month.

slam it a little more, steelies and silver scallops.

  13. What about knocking the clear off it and re-shooting with satin clear? Paint the roof above the drip rail and down around the rear window a large silver flake and have someone do a little pin striping on it. Black steelies........

For some reason, I dont like scallops on these trucks. They just dont "fit" the truck for me.

Not trying to be a smart *** but if you listen to us you are
still going to end up with somebody else's truck .
Drive it a while . Let the truck tell you what you want it to be ,
    these relationship take time

Yes, I'm taking my time until I'm sure what I want to do. The problem, is the more I think about it, the more unsure I get. That's why I'm hoping for a good brainstorming and maybe a little photoshop session.

By the way, The wheels may be lame, but they are a temporary solution. Maybe you prefer what the same wheels and same tires looked like when I started:

I would put steel wheels ( maybe artelry wheels ) and paint the grill, roof and wheels a contrasting color with some pinstriping.

I like the spep plates and the badges.

    I'm doing a 54F100 right now.

Planning on bringing it to the HAMB drags.

Someone (can't remember who, sorry) did this on another photoshop request thread awhile back. Thought of it when I saw your truck.

If you want a cheap fix though maybe pull the step plates off and throw on a set of discs...

I've got to agree with Hotrodyblock. It's in the wheels that it looks weird to me. Maybe some hub caps or big center caps would help.

To me something looks strange with the gap in the wheelwells. Maybe a slighht lowering also...?

Overall- real pretty truck- I've got a '55 Effie I'm doing now.

Also sidepipes do look pretty good on these puppies...

There are plenty of things to do, but only you can decide. Personally I like the egg plant. But since you asked for opinions here is mine:

    -Lower it
    ----Shave the handles, badges,etc
-Go to town on the grille. Add what you want. That is a lot of space to play with and plenty of cool things you can do with it. 53 buick bezels, bezels from other cars/trucks. grill bars, teeth, drawer pulls, etc.
-Paint it your favorite color and add scallops if you like. They CAN be done if done right. Think watson . Or pinstripe the nose and tailgate
-Lake pipes will make it looklower, but then you have the front fenders that will look higher.(see pics below...It bothers the hell out of me)
-Add a bumper from something else.

I've got a ton of ideas because I love effies. I was a member of an F100 truck club for 5 years, and still keep in touch with some members. YOu want parts, I know someone who probably has it.Good luck on whatever you decide to do.'

Here is a pic of the panel in previous incarnations to give you an idea:

    More 2 cents.

get rid of the tailgate chains and do a different latch
    get rid of stock bumper
Get rid of the stock tank and slap a mustang gas tank under the bed
lose the stock tail lights and french something else into the rear fenders.
Wide whites are awesome. Wheels? those are a wayyy personal preference like underwear. Go with what you like.

OK so that's more than 2 cents worth...

    Phat56,
Nice score on the truck. I'm with the majority, lose the step.
Wheels, maybe some black painted steelies, trim rings and baby moons. Or, Caddy sombrero caps; but that's copying Frank at So-Cal AZ with his F-100.
Lakes pipes would go with the traditional 50's theme.
Paint: Scallops would provide a nice break-up of all that nice dark color. Maybe Jeem, can give you some ideas for scallops. And I'm sure he would appreciate the business.

PM me when you get a chance.

Thanks for the view, hotrodyblock, the torq thrusts definately give it a more serious look.

Like I said, I need a slap. Now I'm looking at the fake halibrands on eBay.

Frank's F-100 at So-Cal AZ is a thing of beauty, you know you've built something cool when they make toys of it.

I think we have a winner with the torque thrusts, blackwalls, and loose the step plates. It gives it a bad *** look without touching anything else. A black tonneau would look good too.

    Leave it gloss!
