Alright gentleman after years of evolving these cast aluminum surfer style scoops, we finally have fresh one piece castings! It has taken several years to upgrade our scoops from two piece to a one piece casting. In the process we made the scoops stronger, lighter, completely symmetrical, uniform thickness, changed to an aircraft grade 319 aluminum, these babies polish up to a deep luster….. and best part is 100% Made in the USA!!! I saw your post and thought "hey, I like those scoops. I wonder what it would look like on my '60 Falcon G***er" Then I saw your pic of one. And it was good. But now I cant buy one, because "it's already been done" -rick
I believe that Falcon is the only scoop we've sold in the state of TN. That car is actually in the exact same town I live in, and I've never seen it in person, so I think you'd be safe in KS. Ha!
Good luck they just vanished, Arias Components bought several of the molds but now they don't sell the scoops either. They have a parts section of molds they are selling but it's not listed in there, the Richie guy that owned *****en Scoops made a few comments about trying it again but I don't think he got enough interest.

Hello, Early films show the original scoop of the Speed Sport Modified Roadster that hit the big show in December of 1959. All of the top drag racers in the USA were invited to show up at the Riverside Raceway in So Cal. The drag meet was created to show the West what the rest of the USA was doing with their drag race cars. This time, it was not just in the weekly drag news paper with photos and results. At the time, the announcements of records being set at other drag strips across the USA gave some doubt to the local west coast drag racers and everyone wanted to see the battle when the it was the USA vs the West Coast Drag Racers. Jnaki For us young teenagers who were drag race participants, this was almost "Nirvana" in 1959. The top racers in the USA were all there in So Cal for this meet. Then, in March of 1960, it made a perfect run during eliminations... Bakersfield Smokers March Meet #2 But, later on in the early 60’s, someone showed up at Lion’s Dragstrip and I was not there to record the runs down the dragstrip. Those cool looking scoops still grabbed the needed air and looked good doing it. These scoops that Red designed and made over 45 years ago, have long been my absolute favorite scoop on top of a blower. I now finally own one, and it is a most treasured possession! Hello, That is a good one. I was a young teenager when the first scoops were on those race cars in 1959. But, when I tried to pour cast aluminum into hand made shapes in our high school metal shop cl***, the smooth curved designs did not come out as well as it should. The mold has to be perfect to create the curvature and overall shape. So, I would ***ume it was fibergl*** as that material was made for such projects. In the surfboard repair and gl***ing times, I certainly could make a smooth surface, if the carved or shaped mold underneath was ready. The fibergl*** and resin combo would shape around the exact duplicate rather easily. Well, easily, if one knows how to work with fibergl***. And, the mold is shaped to its own specifications. Like a curved down shaped rail for compe***ion surfboards as a design implement. The fibergl***/resin shapes to the curves of the shaped mold object. For my recollection and ease of a quality shape, fibergl*** sure seems like the logical choice. YRMV Jnaki The best person to ask would be our friend, @Dean Lowe
