We've got a scaffold tower up the front of the house at the moment so it was time for a photo opportunity!

The roadster is mine and the Sedan Delivery is my dad's.

Your roadster looks super fine from this angle Clarke. That,s not to say it doesn,t look good from the ground mind you!
In a similar vein, here,s a couple of pics I shot recently.

It looks like a Fordson e83w grill? I cut my teeth tearing down and rebuilding a fordson pickup and I've always thought the grill would look good on a coupe and (if my memories correct and thats it) that does look damn nice! If you look them up, you'll see why I needed some more speed!
    cheers

Thanks, I got the idea with the ribs from Walley Parks old '27 dry lakes roadster. I made the frame from 1/4" steel rod, welded it up, painted it, stretched canvas from an awning supply place over it, sewed it up on my moms old singer. Front uses two L shaped brackets to catch the bottom of the dash rail, and in the back I made a single spring loaded pin to lock into a hole in the body.

The headlights are late 30's Vauxhall. The rear light is a single stock 'B' no more no less.

Limeworks has 2 or 3 of those grills hanging in their shop so I guess that makes sense.

Cool pics and a sweet post...

  22. This is EXACLT how I was thinking about doing it myself. Do you have any pics from the side? Does the side extend down over the top of the door?

I've got some side shots but don't want to bring this post "down". It just runs allong the top edge of the body, dosn't drop over the door at all. The only thing I really don't like about it is that it won't fit in the trunk. So I've got to either leave it somewhere or let it hang out of the trunk when girls need rides.

  28. Hi Nimrod,

    May I make a suggestion?

Replace the steel that runs along the outside with a fibergl*** tent pole. Thats what I plan on doing for mine, using with a connecting sleeve so that I can take the pole out, break it down and roll up the cover.

By the way I love that pic but I can see the cover, its all salty ;)
